From March 26, 2010 Bill Maher's show on HBO Bill Maher offers advice to President Obama: tell the populace to kiss his ass, made vulgar references to Tiger Woods and the John Edwards affair, comparing health care to violence sex acts. Maher says to tell the Republicans to "Go F*** themselves" as Obama "drags the ignorant hillbilly half into this century." One last Sarah Palin joke and Maher completes his update on how the left see politcs, Obama's "socialism" and the rest of America.


Here's a word President Obama should take out of his Teleprompter:

Bipartisanship. People only care about that in theory, not in practice.
The best thing that happened this year is when Obama finally realized
that and said: "Kiss my black ass, we're going it alone George W. Bush
style." [applause]

Now, two months ago, conservative Fred Barnes
wrote, "the health care bill is dead with not the slightest prospect of
resurrection." Well, if it's dead, you just got your ass kicked by a
zombie named Nancy Pelosi. Seriously, the last time a Democrat showed
balls like that John Edwards' girlfriend was filming it.

And yet, even before the Democrats got to take a single victory lap, they
were being warned not to get drunk with power. I disagree. All you
Democrats do a shot and then do another. Get drunk on this feeling of
not backing down and doing what you came to Washington to do. [applause]

Do not listen to the people who are now saying that nothing else big
should be attempted for a while because health care was so rough.
Wrong. Because I learned something watching the lying bullies of the
right lose this one. When they’re losing, they squeal like a pig. They
kept saying things like, the bill was being "shoved down our throats."
Or the Democrats were "ramming it through." The bill was so big they "couldn't take it all at once." [laughter]

And you know what? I realized listening to this rhetoric that it reminded me of something.
It reminded me of Tiger Woods' text messages to his mistress that were
made public last week, where he said, and I quote: "I want to treat you
rough, throw you around, spank and slap you and make you sore. I want
to hold you down and choke you while I f*** that ass that I own. Then
I'm going to tell you to shut the f*** up while I slap your face and
pull your hair for making noise." Unquote. [laughter]

And this, I believe, perfectly represents the attitude the Democrats should now
have in their dealings with the Republican Party. [applause]

Yes, it does. That's what they should be saying to the Republicans: "Shut
the f*** up while I slap your face for making noise! Now pass the
cap-and-trade law, you stupid b*tch, and repeat after me, ‘global
warming is real.’" [applause]

The Democrats need to push the rest of their agenda while their boot is on the neck of the greedy, poisonous old reptile. Who cares if cap-and-trade bill isn't popular,
neither was health care. Your poll numbers may have descended a bit,
but so did your testicles.

So don't stop. We need to regulate the banks, we need to overhaul immigration, we need to end corporate welfare including at the Pentagon, we need to bring troops home from
everywhere, we need to end the drug war, and we need to put terrorists
and other human rights violators on trial in civilian courts --
starting with Dick Cheney. [applause]

Democrats, in conclusion, Democrats in America were put on earth to do one thing: Drag the ignorant hillbilly half of this country into the next century, which in
their case is the 19th. And by passing health care, the Democrats saved
their brand.

A few months ago, Sarah Palin mockingly asked them: "How's that ‘hopey-changey’ thing working for you?" Great, actually, thanks for asking. And how's that whole ‘Hooked on Phonics’ thing working out for you? [laughter]

Harris Poll: 40% believe Obama a socialist

The polarization of America continues as President Obama signed the Health Care Reform Bill into law this week despite poll indicate only 25% favor the bill.

We've heard and seen allegations of violence, horrible bigotry, death threats and more violence.

Are we out of control or headed there?

Harris Poll released this week found:

• 40 percent of Americans say Mr. Obama is a socialist


• 33% think he's a Muslim


• 25% think he was not even born in the U.S.(he's not eligible to be president and is a "domestic enemy that the U.S.
  Constitution speaks of")

Shocking? Not to me.

As I've proclaimed during the Bush administration, the divide between parties is a chasm that is hard to bridge. President Obama campaigned on being capable of uniting the parties, but he struggled to resolve feuds in the Democratic Party to push Health Care Reform.

One example from the Harris Poll:

67 percent of both Republicans and conservatives said Mr.
Obama was a socialist, compared with 14 percent of Democrats and 15
percent of liberals.

Well, at least we have 14-15% of honest liberals and Democrats.

"These new numbers are shocking but not surprising - they detail the
extent to which 'wingnuts' are hijacking our politics. This poll should
be a wake-up call to all Americans about the real costs of using fear
and hate to pump up hyper-partisanship," John Avlon, author of
"Wingnuts: How the Lunatic Fringe Is Hijacking America" told the Harris
pollster.

Not surprising?

Of course, it's the right-wing brainwashing machine (aka "wingnuts" in this instance) but does that include Al Sharpton who said this:

"...then we'd have to say that the American public overwhelmingly voted for socialism when
they elected President Obama."

Sharpton tells US: Obama is a socialist

"We are playing with dynamite by demonizing our president and dividing
our country in the process. Americans need to remember the perspective
that Wingnuts always forget - patriotism is more important than
partisanship," Mr. Avlon said.

Yes, but was Mr. Avlon worried about these partisan attacks when Bush was being attacked and called "Hitler" nearly daily.

In a 2007 Rasmussen Poll found that 35% of Democrats thought that Bush knew about the
9/11 attacks in advance, and that another 26% weren't sure. Partisan? Dangerous?

I actually with Mr. Avlon, we're in dangerous territory. So where to go from here? What will wake you up that there is only a degree of difference between the two parties and most of political actions are done for political gain only.

I was not hard enough on Bush as I should have been, of course, most people only agreed with me while I railed on Bush over Social Security, illegal immigration or spending. It was always about a stolen election and the war.

So let me challenge you to do some soul searching.

If the Health Care Reform Bill outrages you, where are you on Bush and the ridiculous spending on Medicare Prescription Drugs?

Why is the Iraq War, Patriot Act and Gitmo so outrageous under Bush, but now just a quiet backdrop under Obama? Where's the protesters?

Yes Bush ran deficits, but if that upset you, where are you on Obama's spending which is THREE TIMES the worst under Bush?

I'm not with the 14% that think Obama is the anti-Christ or the 20% that feel he's a racist.

But I have serious concerns and questions about the actions of this President and his administration.

He appears to be fulfilling his campaign promise of "transforming" America, unfortunately, he's not simply fixing it.

Maybe some people are just now figuring that out.

Liberals feuding over Haiti?

Rachel Maddow of MSNBC and Jon Stewart of Comedy Central rarely ever spar. This last Thursday was an exception to the rule as Stewart mentioned Maddow's poorly timed jab as the Bush administration:

"The idea of more diplomacy and development -- the idea of more USAID power -- is a major part of the Obama administration's agenda," Maddow said. "... All of that, central to what the Obama administration says it wants to do differently than what Bush and Cheney did."

After Stewart mentions leaving ideology out of the Haiti reporting the Maddow clip concludes leaving Stewart to announce: "Not the right time."

He then mocked Maddow, her audience and the network:

"Congratulations MSNBC viewers -- you're on the right side of this terrible, terrible tragedy"

Of course, that could and should be the end of it, right?

Nope.

Not on MSNBC -- Maddow replies on her show:

"I know that's politics, but, listen, I love me some Jon Stewart and the "Daily Show." I'm a big fan, but no apologies for reporting on which agency is the lead to respond to our national efforts to respond to Haiti, whether or not that agency is well-resourced, whether it had been subject to partisan attacks, how much the current administration values and prioritizes and indeed brags on that agency. We all as Americans are counting on our government to do a good job in responding to this catastrophe. This is what it looks like to report on our government's capacity to do just that.

Unfortunately the partisanship was brought to the table by you Rachel Maddow. Everyone knows the shortcomings of the previous administration, we don't need it highlighted right now. Did you mention how the local Democratic leadership in New Orleans failed their citizens during Katrina compared to Mississippi?

Rush Limbaugh's comments regarding President Obama using the disaster in Haiti is as deplorable as Danny Glover blaming global warming, but while we are still in the search and rescue phase political ideology could be checked at the door.

Job Creation without the Know How?

Last week Forbes examined the job crisis and plans for "tax credits for hiring new workers, increased public sector employment bills, hundreds of billions in new stimulus" -- see full article here.

The one aspect of the Forbes column was the cabinet members' experience in the private sector reflected their experience at job creation, generating profit and running a business.

The results are shocking: the Obama administration has minimal experience in the private sector. Less than 10% of the cabinet have this experience, including the President himself.

Our news stations are following the post-9/11 agenda from the Bush administration - go spend all will work itself out. Every other month the unemployment figures are reported as "better than expected" and members of the White House announce how the US is recovering.

I don't have a method to verify the Forbes article but it's clear that President Obama has been no friend to the private sector. Bailout and Stimulus solutions are friends of the government and have not yielded job growth (or the mysterious jobs saved calculation)

Administrations need a balance of expertice from various industries and 90% of our current leaders don't have any of that experience so their mistakes shouldn't surprise us.

Obama disses Dalai Lama, losing the Jews but awards Mary Robinson

A recent poll (August) in the Jerusalem Post revealed that only 4% think President Obama is pro-Israel. That's a staggering number and if nothing else, it's the MOST NEGATIVE Israeli view of the President.

"Fifty-one percent of Jewish Israelis consider Obama's administration more pro-Palestinian than pro-Israel, according to the survey, while 35% consider it neutral and 10% declined to express an opinion. The poll of 500 people representing a statistical model of the Jewish Israeli population had a margin of error of 4.5%."

As the article notes, the decline began after the meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Israelis have declining faith that Obama and his support.

Perhaps we can consult the Dalai Lama.

Well, we could if Obama met with the exiled Tibetan leader when he visited, but the meeting was postponed to "strengthen relations with China."

As US News & World Report reported, "The U.S. decision to postpone the meeting appears to be part of a strategy to improve ties with China that also includes soft-pedaling criticism of China's human rights ..."

Got that...

For the first time since 1991, the Tibetan spiritual leader will visit Washington this week and not meet with the president.

This President is going to STAND UP the Dalai Lama because of China. I'm sure it will help.

The last time he was here, in 2007, President George W. Bush became the first sitting president to meet with him publicly, at a ceremony at the Capitol in which he awarded the Dalai Lama the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress's highest civilian award.

For decades we've stood firm to support the Israelis and now they question our leader's commitment. Sean Penn visits and condones the dictator Hugo Chavez and White House members (or czars) praise Chavez. Meanwhile Jewish synagogues are attacked and the Jews retreat from the country.

Lastly, Obama has awarded the Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson, who is recognized as secretary general of the 2001 "World Conference Against Racism" in Durban, South Africa. This dismissed the virulent anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and at least implicitly anti-American.

John Bolton, ambassador to the UN, referenced that the conference was so vile that the "...draft declaration that Secretary of State Colin Powell correctly called it "a throwback to the days of 'Zionism equals racism,'" referring to the infamous 1975 U.N. General Assembly resolution to that effect.

Bolton continued: "Outrage over Durban reignited earlier this year when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did her best to get the United States to attend the successor conference (“Durban II”) to polish Mr. Obama’s 'multilateralist' bona fides. Because the Durban II draft declaration reaffirmed Durban I’s hateful conclusions, even the Obama administration couldn’t swallow attending."

No surprise that the "Right Wing" don't care for Ms. Robinson. This 2002 article by Michael Rubin on National Review calls her a "War Criminal" -- too harsh?

It's no denying Robinson's support of Palestians and the likemindedness of the Obama administration to walk a thin line with a hallow support of Israel. If Israel representatives at the UN were asked about Robinson, I got a feeling that they would not support Obama's selection.

So, while we still remain unpopular in the Middle East, the President seems to go to extreme lengths to limit support for our one ally - Israel. Instead, the White House will extend good will sentiments to polish relations with the Chinese Communists.

We can keep head scratching trying to understand the "Hope and Change" on the global scale, but for me, it's both saddening and disturbing.

Joshua DuBois: Faith Based a& Community Czar

Back in February President Obama continued, really rebranded, the Office of Faith Based Initiatives which was created under President Bush to "Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives" (Executive Order 13199) Joshua DuBois, a 27-year-old Pentacostal Minister was designated to lead the Office.

I wasn't really aware of the activities of the office other than the Supreme Court decision in 2007. The court vote to protect the Executive Order from separation of church and state lawsuits. Judges John Roberts and Samuel Alito, Bush appointees, sided with the majority in a 5-4 victory, declaring "status of taxpayer" was NOT sufficient to challenge the executive order.

What's interesting is that President Obama added a new component: a 25 member board. Some members include:

–Rabbi David Saperstein, head of the DC Religious Action Center of Reform Judiasm
–Judith Vredenburgh, CEO of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America
–Bishop Vashti McKenzie, first female Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church
–The Rev. Joel Hunter, the senior pastor of Northland church in Orlando, Florida
–The Rev. Frank Page, the conservative past president of the Southern Baptist Convention


I'm surprised by the LACK of outrage surrounding the appointment of DuBois, who is credited with securing Rick Warren for the President's inauguration, texts the President Bible verses daily and is a Pentacostal minister. This is an entire piece by CBN's David Brody

In contrast with the other extremists that have found their way into the Obama administration, Mr. DuBois seems to be a genuine Christian with passions to bring different faiths together. He's been an advocate to reduce abortions and seems to have a healthy grasp on religion in our communities.

"In every church on Sunday in the African-American community we have this moral fervor; we have energy to burn. But as soon as church lets out, the energy dissipates. We must find ways to channel all this energy into community building. The biggest failure of the Civil Rights Movement was in failing to translate this energy, this moral fervor, into creating lasting institutions and organizational structures." -- Barack Obama, Chicago Reader 1995.

DuBois is a strike contrast from Rev. Wright and the anti-Christian comments from Kevin Jennings. Most of the attention around the controversial Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, begun by President George W. Bush and continued by President Obama, has centered on church-state separation issues.

I personally would abolish the department, the czar position, as I don't see this as a role for the Federal government. Unfortunately, it's here and I will strive to understand the board and its members to calculate their role in the Obama agenda.

Glenn Beck on TIME magazine

I've followed Glenn Beck since his days on 970 WFLA here in Tampa. I didn't (and still don't) always agree with most of his rantings, especially his efforts at comedy or "duping the morons" during afternoon drivetime.

His recent success is, in my opinion, due to his transformation to seek a more universal truth through criticism and skepticism of both political parties. Like Beck, I railed against President Bush, especially the last three years or so of his administration. There wasn't a home between the Bush-haters and the Republican loyalists.

Unlike many conservatives, especially talk radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, Beck ventures off the Republican reservation to attack the hypocrisy of "conservatives" as well as the Democrats.

The coverage of ACORN and Van Jones have really advanced his cause by establishing credibility. I don't think of any of these talking heads as "journalists", but Beck partnered with Andrew Breitbart to out ACORN's incredible corruption and illegal activities discovered by two inidiviuals posing as a pimp and prostitute.

The networks have only now begun to embrace the story.

Likewise, Beck was "way out in front" on the Green Czar Van Jones, outing his long history of self-proclaimed radical history and controversial comments. Jones resigned over a long weekend skirting criticism from the media.

Gracing the cover of TIME will raise the question from those in the media: is Beck sincere with his comments and stances against so many officials and governement policies? I personally think the media and journalists have become so fake, blinded by their own political bias and an industry likemindedness, they simply don't understand Beck.

It's just simply easier to dismiss him as crazy than review the stories and have the results contradict their own personal beliefs.

For me, Beck is just another face in the crowd, but deserves some unique credit for carving out a niche in calling out both sides and running stories no one else will present.
