"Allah Ackbar" and a 100 rounds later -- the worst shooting on a US Military Base in history.
When I heard the name of the Fort Hood gunman, Nidal Malik Hasan, I had erroneously heard his family was Pakistan. I knew immediately this was terrorism. Now we know that he is Palestinian with ties to Virgina -- this makes matters worse.
This timeline show his activities leading up to the shooting, but DO NOT include all of the details.
Virgina is a haven for extreme Muslims and the Dar al-Hijrah mosque, where Hasan attended, was home to two 9/11 highjackers. This is is where Hasan's turn to extremism took hold. This and other mosques that preach and support jihads begin with this foundation:
"We abide by every law of this country except those laws that contradictory to Islam Law..."
It is important to understand that this is the backbone of the Hasan story: Islamic Law supersedes and trumps the Constitution and his oath to the military. Killing other Muslims, even the jihads in Afghanistan or Iraq, is against their religion.
We were given ALL of the warning signs to understand this War Against Islamic Extremists -- we just forgot, dismiss those signs too easily or can't overcome "political correctness" to ensure our protection.
Some warning signs:
Federal law enforcement officials have said Major Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats. The officials said the postings appeared to have been made by Major Hasan but they were still trying to confirm that he was the author.
SIX MONTHS AGO....but we still can't confirm.
His anger was noted by a classmate, who said Hasan "viewed the war against terror" as a "war against Islam."
ABC now reports Hasan was trying to contact al Qaeda. As the article points out: it's UNCLEAR if US Intelligence informed the ARMY of Major Hasan's actions.
Back to Virgina, radical mosque leader, Anwar al Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen and runs a web site that promotes jihad around the world against the U.S has ties to Virgina and these extreme mosques.
Awlaki's Blog post on Monday: "Nidal Hasan Did the Right Thing," Awlaki calls Hasan a "hero" and a "man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people." Hasan had done a powerpoint presentation entitled "Why the War on Terror Is a War on Islam" in which some viewers filed anonymous concerns about the tone of the presentation.
The day before the shooting, Hasan gave away all of his possessions and said his goodbyes -- the decision was made. Major Hasan was no longer an officer for the Army, he was an enemy of the state.
Under the guise and protection of political correctness, even the reporters repeated the comment "I wish his name had been Smith" as they refused to call the man what he had become - a terrorist.
The terrorists we are fighting are NOT NAMED SMITH.
The most ridiculous comes from TIME magazine which asserts that Hasan developed a "Secondary Post Traumatic Syndrome" from hearing the countless stories from the war zone.
From the article: "It's entirely possible that other factors may have acted as a trigger for Hasan's alleged killing spree."
YES. HE WAS A TERRORIST! NOT A VICTIM!
TIME continues to victimize the Hasan reputation because he was alleged harassed because of his religion and he was vocally opposed to the war. They fail to mention that Hasan had adopted the belief that Islamic Law trumps his oath to uphold the Constitution. Who can blame the magazine, they wanted to focused on how traumatized he was.
All we have to do is look to at ourselves to see how this happened. Blame will be spread from the Army to the FBI to society and to the war itself. The end of this tragedy will be the same: a terrorist murdered 12 and wounded over 30. He's now a hero to the Islamic Extremists -- the enemy.
Back in March, the White House adopted politically correct names for the war (Overseas Contingency Operations)and terrorists (Man-Made Disasters) well, look no further than to Ft. Hood for the latest "Man-Made Disaster", but the problem is that it isn't "overseas"
Hasan's writings prior to the shooting:
"There was a grenade thrown amongst a group of American soldiers. One of the soldiers, feeling that it was to late for everyone to flee jumped on the grave with the intention of saving his comrades. Indeed he saved them. He intentionally took his life (suicide) for a noble cause i.e. saving the lives of his soldier. To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause. Scholars have paralelled this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers.
If one suicide bomber can kill 100 enemy soldiers because they were caught off guard that would be considered a strategic victory. Their intention is not to die because of some despair. The same can be said for the Kamikazees in Japan. They died (via crashing their planes into ships) to kill the enemies for the homeland. You can call them crazy i you want but their act was not one of suicide that is despised by Islam. So the scholars main point is that “IT SEEMS AS THOUGH YOUR INTENTION IS THE MAIN ISSUE” and Allah (SWT) knows best." (see below links to the entire six page document)
