Foes to Infiltrate the Tea Parties

Originally posted at The Desk of Brian, www.deskofbrian.com: http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/foestoinfiltratetheteaparties

The website http://www.crashtheteaparty.org/ is the epicenter of the anti-Tea Party movement advertising plans to infiltrate Tea Party rallies with phony signs, make wild claims on TV interview and exaggagerate extremist stereotypes to discredit Tea Party members.
From the website:
Who We Are: A nationwide network of Democrats, Republicans and Independents who are sick and tired of all that loose affiliation of racists, homophobes and morons; who constitute the fake grass-roots movement which calls itself "The Tea Party."
What We Want: To dismantle and demolish the Tea Party by any non-violent means necessary.
How We Will Succeed: By infiltrating the Tea Party itself! In an effort to propagate their pre-existing propensity for paranoia and suspicion...we have already sat quietly in their meetings, and observed their rallies.
Whenever possible, we will act on behalf of the Tea Party in ways which exaggerate their least appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public opinion of them. We will also use the inside information that we have gained in order to disrupt and derail their plans.
I know and have met several people who attended Tea Party rallies and that includes several minorities and women who would contradict these ridiculous stereotypes.
So this proves several points
  • Tea Parties are a threat otherwise there wouldn't be a movement to destroy them.
  • Tea Parties are NOT full of racist, homophobic morons are there wouldn't be a need to implant them.
  • Tea Party members can spell or there wouldn't be a need to portray them as illiterate.
  • Tea Party members are not extremists because the "fools" interviewed and portrayed by the media may already be plants.
Stefanie Schappert reporfts that: "Although Crash’s website states that they will take down the tea party “by any non-violent means necessary”, the anonymous founder of the group (known as the “Mad Hatter” or Twitter name “tpartycrasher”) tweeted this on April 8th:
“When Glenn Beck dies, I plan to pour a pint of whiskey on his grave. I hope he doesn't mind if I run it through my kidneys first!!!.”
To quote Robert Ditmar's Examiner piece on this story (sited below):
"This sounds just like the totalitarian tactics of radicals such as Saul Alinsky. It just proves the lying, liberal leftist hypocrites cannot tolerate any intelligent challenges to their ridiculous dreams of a socialist, Utopian left-wing communist paradise-on-Earth society."
Of course it would be easy enough to dismiss this group as extremist fringe themselves, but they are NOT the only group.
The Coffee Party (http://www.coffeepartyusa.com/content/how-destroy-tea-party-make-them-our-friends-and-allies)a phony left-wing group posing as Conservatives, an offshoot of the Tea Party Movement, but rooted in the goals of stereotyping the Tea Party members as radical extremists. "The Coffee Party" was established by Annabel Park who volunteered for Democrat Jim Webb's Senate campaign and President Obama's 2008 campaign - not exactly aligned withe the Tea Parties.
The outrage over the Health Care Reform Law would have waned over the months, but these idiotic efforts will only backfire and motivate more Tea Party participants. I'm sure it would....NO, I KNOW IT WOULD be easier if every opponent of Barack Obama was a racist, sexist, homophobic moron, but unfortunately, America is better than that.
Sooner or later groups like these will find that out.

Media provide Damage Control for Democratic Scandals

Rich Noyes present an excellent timeline and analysis of how the media sheltering Harry Reid from criticism and ultimately "morphed the story from one of an embarrassing racial gaffe by the Senate's top Democrat into one about Republican over-reach in going after Reid"

This is a summary of Noyes timeline:

Day 1: TROUBLE -- CBS anchor Jeff Glor calls it "a controversial remark [that] is shaking the political world."

Day 2: SUNDAY FODDER -- ABC's Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos sounded like a Reid shill: "This was a private conversation....His choice of words, obviously, was unfortunate. The Senator knows that."

PBS anchor Judy Woodruff relayed the White House line: "This is the Mormon from Searchlight [Nevada] with an ear of tin and a heart of gold."

Day 3: CIRCLE THE WAGONS -- NBC's Andrea Mitchell calls Reid's remark "demeaning" of Obama which was met with PBS host Gwen Ifill "I don't understand what's demeaning"

Harold Ford, Jr.: "I don't believe in any way that Harry Reid had any animus, racial animus."

DAY 4: ANNOUNCE IT'S OVER -- CBS's Early Show, co-host Harry Smith was itching to be done with the controversy: "Is the Reid story over, and should it be?"

At this point the debate turns on Republicans, who are being "too critical" of Reid and playing partisan politics.

Maybe so.

Let's look to another story that the media are ignoring: John Edwards has been caught cheating AGAIN.

We have to rely on the National Enquirer to report on the most recent affair with Stephanie Breshears.

Edwards relations with Rielle Huner resulted in a child who turns two in February. The Presidential candidate's infidelities have occurred while his spouse Elizabeth battles cancer.

Let's be fair, where's the coverage of Mark Sanford, whose wife filed for divorce in December. The only recent story I could find was that the official "rebuke" of Sanford has been delayed. This FOX story describes the rebuke as "the two-term Republican was derelict in his duty and abused his power. It has no practical effect on the final year of Sanford's tenure."

Conservatives toss around "liberal media" and "media bias" to often but this is the unfair reporting and handling of stories that drives such accusations. Democrats get a pass on racial insensitive comments while Republicans would be demonized or forced out of office. Family values and hypocrisy will fill the headlines describing an unfaithful Conservative, but someone like Edwards faces no such scrutiny.

Many of us don't care about their party - I want them out. It's so incredibly frustrating that Mark Sanford is still the governor of South Carolina.

The corruption, dishonesty and abuse of power is at the nucleus of problems with the political landscape. If the media cannot or will not provide that "fourth rail" to aid us in gathering information then they should be rewarded the same way -- put out of business.

Hatred commonplace for Limbaugh as many wish his death?

I'm no huge fan of Rush Limbaugh, but as it was announced that he was hospitalized, I knew there would be rejoicing by some disturbed folks on the left. I don't recall this type of response over Ted Kennedy and others.

While I was researching this, the balloon popped up that 443 more messages had arrived and I needed to refresh the pages to see them.

443!

I was horrified at the multitude of posts, comments, tweets -- all wishing ill will on this man.

This was actually the second set I found2

"Rush Limbaugh … Drink some bleach !!! Kill Yo’ Self !!!!"

"@tracycoyle oh come on, don’t you wish God would kill Bin Laden? this is no different – Limbaugh’s done just as much damage to the U.S."

"Rush Limbaugh in the hospital! In a year full of deaths, I think we can afford one more."

"I hope Rush Limbaugh dies and I will not take it back. He’s a horrible man."

"A) Praying won’t do anything because there isn’t a God and B) Rush Limbaugh should die for being a giant douchebag. Shut up."

"First thought, good riddance RT @cnnbrk: Radio host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital with chest pains"

There is a lot more where that came from, but let’s check the blogs now. Over at The Huffington Post:

"No, I don’t want him to dye suddenly. It should be very very sloe and pane-full. So he can truly understand how broken our health care system iz!!!!!"

From Twitter1:

Here are a few sample hate tweets taken from thousands about Rush Limbaugh:

"Rush Limbaugh might be dieing? My Christmas wish came true!"

"PLEASE USE HASHTAG #DIERUSHDIE IF YOU HOPE RUSH LIMBAUGH DIES. DONT BE ASHAMED, IT IS FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF AMERICA."

"Rush Limbaugh in the hospital with chest pains, please let this be the end of his reign!!! This would be a great end to the decade!!!"

"FOR THE RECORD, UNIVERSE, IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC TO START THE NEW YEAR WITHOUT RUSH LIMBAUGH AROUND. JS."

"Rush Limbaugh rushed to hospital w/ chest pains. Santa actually listened this year."

"If Rush Limbaugh ends up dying it will take 20 minutes for the right-wing to pin his passing to President Obama. They're both in Hawaii"

"Rush Limbaugh rushed to the ER for "chest pains." Not to worry, it's not like he has a heart there or anything.."

"Did Rush Limbaugh fake heart attack to go to Hawaii hospital in search of Prez Obama's Birth Certificate"

"If Rush Limbaugh gets Hawaiin-born doctors, will he demand to see their birth certificates before letting them save his life?"

"I really hope Rush Limbaugh will live long enough to see history dismiss him as a divisive, racist, flake. Get well soon."

"Haha...Rush Limbaugh died. Black people everywhere are firing their AK's into the sky."

"I was scared of another death this yr til I heard Rush Limbaugh was in the hospital. Come on 2009;don't fail me now." (This one was a big hit, being re-tweeted)

"I do hope Rush Limbaugh is saved by a black lesbian doctor with a questionable immigration status. I don't want him de.. " (I'll assume "Dead"; also another favorite)

"Dear Rush Limbaugh: may your atheist liberal lesbian-of-color doctor do an excellent job caring for you. 8-D" (There were several variations of this one playing on the racist, sexist, bigotted stereotypes)

"May Rush Limbaugh die and be cast into the crushing pillars of the fire. May his bones rot and his walls crumble. May his women lament."

By the time I was finished, there were now 600+ new messages.

The vile fervor is unnerving.

Healthcare: The Infant Mortality Lie & Battling the LHS

It doesn't always take long to have a controversial response to a blog post. My recent post:
http://brandon7221.blogspot.com/2009/10/modest-cuts-of-medicare-advantage-just.html

My opinion is simply: we, as a society, have to do what's in our means to protect our weakest citizens, particularly the elderly and the children. In my opinion, there was a purposeful divergence by the Liberal Healthcare Supporter(LHS) to attack me and my stance AGAINST healthcare reform.

Many of my debates over the topic have revealed that most supporters have good intentions, but don't realize what's ACTUALLY in these bills. Utopian perspectives on fixing healthcare have shown me that most everything, including those "evil" Republicans, want the system improved, but only a few understand the magnitude of the changes that are proposed.

Anyway, back my battle with the LHS, who needs to cling to this idea: the US is the wealthiest country on the planet, but aren't #1 compared to countries with socialized medicine. So our conversation swung toward the point I made earlier and the LHS pounced: why is the infant mortality rate higher in the US than in Europe?

It's likely you could face this swing in a similar argument so let's peel back the onion to find the truth. This is from a piece by Dr. Halderman in 2008 that summarizes many of the falsehoods surrounding Infant Mortality Data1:
  • According to the way statistics are calculated in Canada, Germany, and Austria, a premature baby weighing <500g>
  • Hong Kong or Japan is born alive but dies within the first 24 hours of birth, he or she is reported as a “miscarriage” and does not affect the country’s reported infant mortality rates.
  • 37-41 weeks. In Belgium and France — in fact, in most European Union countries — any baby born before 26 weeks gestation is not considered alive and therefore does not “count” against reported infant mortality rates.
  • Switzerland and other parts of Europe, a baby born who is less than 30 centimeters long is not counted as a live birth.
  • Since 2000, 42 of the world’s 52 surviving babies weighing less than 400g (0.9 lbs.) were born in the United States.
These facts are not Dr. Halderman's data, just a great consolidation and presentation. She's one doctor speaking out repeatedly against the current reform bills, but be warned, speaking out gets you labelled, so she must be a "right-wing extremist" or in the tank for the big insurance companies.

How about if we look within our own country: Utah has a rate of 4.5%, here in Florida it's 7.2%, nearby Mississippi 11.4%, and DC ranks the worst at 14.1%2. Do they have socialized medicine in Utah? We certainly don't here in Florida.

There are a lot of economic, race and education issues that drive this huge discrepancy between US states. So, how can we compare the US to other countries that don't count births based on weight, length, or gestational age?

Remember abortions are NOT part of any of these calculations. There are over a million abortions every year in the US alone and over 2.5 million in Russia. It's always hard for me to keep my cool discussing infant mortality with the LHS when over 5.5 million children are aborted every year.

5.5 million abortions.

Are we supposed to adopt the policies in Asia of NOT counting a new born who passes in the first 24 hours of his or hers life? Will a government run health insurance better serve to resolve this problem - if so, how?

My word of encouragement is this: be ready to face healthcare supporters that have their minds made up, especially those LHS. Whether healthcare is viewed as a right, better than the status quo or they are simply an Obama fanatic, little is known in these bills, but I vow to you the end game is this: one government socialized system.

One theme is all of the healthcare bills and that is the efforts to put pressure on private insurance, control aspects of their business or regulate them out of business.

From the President's letter to supporters:

"The heart of my plan is simple: bring stability and security to Americans who already have health insurance, guarantee affordable coverage for those who don't, and rein in the cost of health care."

Stability, security, guarantee and rein in: all translate to control, control, regulate and control.

After the control and government takeover of healthcare occurs, will the infant mortality be brought down?

I don't think so.
