Hatred commonplace for Limbaugh as many wish his death?

I'm no huge fan of Rush Limbaugh, but as it was announced that he was hospitalized, I knew there would be rejoicing by some disturbed folks on the left. I don't recall this type of response over Ted Kennedy and others.

While I was researching this, the balloon popped up that 443 more messages had arrived and I needed to refresh the pages to see them.

443!

I was horrified at the multitude of posts, comments, tweets -- all wishing ill will on this man.

This was actually the second set I found2

"Rush Limbaugh … Drink some bleach !!! Kill Yo’ Self !!!!"

"@tracycoyle oh come on, don’t you wish God would kill Bin Laden? this is no different – Limbaugh’s done just as much damage to the U.S."

"Rush Limbaugh in the hospital! In a year full of deaths, I think we can afford one more."

"I hope Rush Limbaugh dies and I will not take it back. He’s a horrible man."

"A) Praying won’t do anything because there isn’t a God and B) Rush Limbaugh should die for being a giant douchebag. Shut up."

"First thought, good riddance RT @cnnbrk: Radio host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital with chest pains"

There is a lot more where that came from, but let’s check the blogs now. Over at The Huffington Post:

"No, I don’t want him to dye suddenly. It should be very very sloe and pane-full. So he can truly understand how broken our health care system iz!!!!!"

From Twitter1:

Here are a few sample hate tweets taken from thousands about Rush Limbaugh:

"Rush Limbaugh might be dieing? My Christmas wish came true!"

"PLEASE USE HASHTAG #DIERUSHDIE IF YOU HOPE RUSH LIMBAUGH DIES. DONT BE ASHAMED, IT IS FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF AMERICA."

"Rush Limbaugh in the hospital with chest pains, please let this be the end of his reign!!! This would be a great end to the decade!!!"

"FOR THE RECORD, UNIVERSE, IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC TO START THE NEW YEAR WITHOUT RUSH LIMBAUGH AROUND. JS."

"Rush Limbaugh rushed to hospital w/ chest pains. Santa actually listened this year."

"If Rush Limbaugh ends up dying it will take 20 minutes for the right-wing to pin his passing to President Obama. They're both in Hawaii"

"Rush Limbaugh rushed to the ER for "chest pains." Not to worry, it's not like he has a heart there or anything.."

"Did Rush Limbaugh fake heart attack to go to Hawaii hospital in search of Prez Obama's Birth Certificate"

"If Rush Limbaugh gets Hawaiin-born doctors, will he demand to see their birth certificates before letting them save his life?"

"I really hope Rush Limbaugh will live long enough to see history dismiss him as a divisive, racist, flake. Get well soon."

"Haha...Rush Limbaugh died. Black people everywhere are firing their AK's into the sky."

"I was scared of another death this yr til I heard Rush Limbaugh was in the hospital. Come on 2009;don't fail me now." (This one was a big hit, being re-tweeted)

"I do hope Rush Limbaugh is saved by a black lesbian doctor with a questionable immigration status. I don't want him de.. " (I'll assume "Dead"; also another favorite)

"Dear Rush Limbaugh: may your atheist liberal lesbian-of-color doctor do an excellent job caring for you. 8-D" (There were several variations of this one playing on the racist, sexist, bigotted stereotypes)

"May Rush Limbaugh die and be cast into the crushing pillars of the fire. May his bones rot and his walls crumble. May his women lament."

By the time I was finished, there were now 600+ new messages.

The vile fervor is unnerving.

2009: Another and quite different look back

2009 brought us "Hope and Change" with our half-black President and a team of extreme leftists to run our beloved country. We soon discovered that some things wouldn't change. My "Year End" blog here reflected on the political landscape of 2009 but left some thoughts unmentioned.

Windows 7 would stink less than Vista.

The newspapers would remain blind to their political and social biases and plunge deeper and deeper into financial ruins.

We'd lose David Carradine, the Kung Fu star, but catch the sex offender Roman Polanski. We'd witness an amazing landing a plane in the Hudson River and the capture of a marine vessel by Somali pirates.

"Slumdog Millionaire" is supposed to be entertaining, the Stock Market will bounce back, Al Franken really REALLY won in Minnesota and Sarah Palin is quitting.

Lady Gaga (left) gave us a laugh and a head scratch at the same time. Violence in Iran to suppress protess made us gasp and cry as thousands are brutalized. The Henne balloon boy scandal invokes fear, sadness and anger as the tale unfolds.

2009 had it all.

Hypocrisy rang loud in "09" as David Letterman went public about his affair(s) maintaining his integrity (by some standards) yet ridiculed Tiger Woods for his transgressions. Actress Brittany Murphy passed away leaving many to wonder who she was, while Ted Kennedy died and few remembered Mary Jo Kopechne.

The Sci-Fi Channel renamed the network "SyFy", Jay Leno left the Tonight Show to basically becomes it's opening act and Saturday Night Live anxiously awaits the return of Sarah Palin so Tina Fey's impersonation can return to save their show.

What were Americans doing in 2009? We can look at the Top 10 Yahoo Searches in 2009:

10. Runescape - The free PC game is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) which translates to a lot, A LOT, of folks sitting around in their underwear pretending to have life while the real world passes them by. #9 NASCAR, #7 American Idol, #5 Britney Spears, #4 Megan Fox, #3 WWE, #2 Twilight and no Surprise #1 - Michael Jackson.

For those that are not too drowsy, yes I skipped #8: Kim Kardashian.

Taking over for Paris Hilton in the "Famous for Being Famous" category arose from one of the deplorable shows "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and for dating football star Reggie Bush. Reality TV dominated again with another year exploiting humans for ratings and Kardashian delivered the most extreme and deployment characteristics to float to the top of the Reality TV's cesspool of fame.

It may have started in 2008, but 2009 is the year H1N1, Swine Flu, became a buzzword in every household. While the disease spread across the globe, hysteria provoked more panic as the media preached the fear of a pandemic. Cases and death tolls were and are marginally compared to regular seasonal flu.

On a side note, the "Anti-Motivational" Posters (as posted here) became the rage of many mass e-mails. They are hysterical yet often disturbing and inappropriate. Not for the PC, Politically Correct, Crowd, but I'd highly recommend Googling them for a laugh.

American Idol provided an unlikely star in Susan Boyle and a provocative one in Adam Lambert. Boyle's voice surprised the AI judges, fans and became a worldwide phenom. Later, her album sold over 650,000 copies by Christmas. Lambert followed his Idol tenure with a S&M presentation on the American Music Awards, including kissing another male on stage. How many will remember it was Kris Allen who walked away with the American Idol title.

Thousands upon thousands wanted arrived to witness the funeral of Michael Jackson. As the Staples Center in Los Angeles filled to capacity, thousands were stranded outside to worship the "King of Pop" costing taxpayers $4-5 million.

Jackson's death sparked more interest in his music than he had in years, culminating with a movie "This is It" which grossed $72 million at the box office. Jackson graced the covers of magazines everywhere and his album "Thriller" hit #1 on iTunes.

This was a huge fervor, one that was revisited with another bow to the Japanese Emperor. President Obama bows, here, to the Saudi king. Dan Lothian of CNN the Press Secretary is it was a bow or not. Gibbs: "No, I think he bent over with both, to shake -- with both hands to shake his hand..."

Ocean Acidification is the new Buzzword

What was once "global cooling" was soon so scientifically invalid it was rebranded with the reactionary "global warming" that has turned into hysteria. Of course, again the science poses a burden to the agenda as the last decade has cooled, so "Climate Change" was the new tagline.

As many know, with the Climategate e-mails destroying the credibility of the top IPCC, UN and International scientists, the spin machine rolls on with the latest revamping: ocean acidification.

One can already find articles on the topic: The Tucsoncitizen.com, Mongabay.com, and even from the Copenhagen summit itself (Read here)

The name has or will be changed, but the agenda will be the same: create hysteria using extreme conditions in computer models to announce that mankind is destroying the earth. We must then spend billions on research to confirm these nearsighted claims and have the UN penalize the wealthy countries causing the problem while redistributing the funds to impoverished nations.

Maurice Strong, one of the leaders in this conspiracy is now in China (surprise!) despite ties to all of these bogus assertions, conferences and even the "Food for Oil" scandal. Strong is on the Board of Directors at the Chicago Climate Exchange (Chicago?) and is the close ally to Al Gore to push this agenda for their financial benefits.

Maurice Strong...China...Chicago and the budding new term "Ocean Acidification" -- you are now up to date, so let the emails begin.

Holiday Diet test & New Year's Resolutions

Reflection during the holidays is normal and increasingly intense as we approach the New Year. Personally, resolutions always seemed like silly, desperate moves and I usually witness their sequels: Valentine chocolate box frenzy, St. Patrick's Day drunken stupor or, the not so common, President's Day pie eating binge.

So how bad did we eat and what recovery would be needed to "diet" after this two-week buffet we call "holiday"

Eggnog: 150mg cholesterol, 20gm of fat and 35 carbs will usually kill you. In fact, I'm surprised there is NOT a black warning label on every eggnog carton.

If you've consumed more than one cup, one year likely has come off of your life expectancy.

Some may tell you that eggnog is only popular during Christmas and New Year's, but I will contend that eggnog consumption year round will likely be the first round of population control efforts.

You've been warned.

Gravy: Please re-read the aforementioned warnings and then pour it on everything! Be mindful of the old Looney Tunes cartoon with the dog that kept repeating: "Don't forget the gravy!"

They were obviously onto something.

Pie: Personally pies should have their own food group. In fact, this is a site (here) that lists a pie for every week of the year. If anyone feels so bold to embark on the endeavor, just remember where you got the idea and save me a small slice.

Apple, Pumpkin, Cherry, Lemon, Pumpkin, Pecan, Peach and Pumpkin - I might have to take a break now that I'm thinking about pie.

Fruitcake: I'll quote a comedian named Jim Gaffigan:

"Fruit good....cake great...fruitcake...nasty crap."

Ok, not always. But if you've been downing slices of fruitcake, it's very likely you're paying the price by the NCAA Bowl games start.

Christmas Cookies: Even the worst chefs in our midst can produce the most edible and tasty cookies at Christmas.

I'll personally confess I'm a two-handed cookie eater. Cooke Monster should in fact be incorporated into the Holiday marketing as an icon.

Carrots, Sugar-Free anything, skim milk mashed potatoes: What's wrong with these people?

Seriously.

Here's my advice: drown those taters in the gravy, use the carrots as dividers to keep the corn from rolling into your cranberry sauce and just dip those healthy sugar-free items into either ranch or chocolate.

So let's stop pretending that we'll diet. Let's have a new agreement: We're going to stop eating this crap between the hours of 12:16am and 1:37am except on days that end in "Y" and the entire month of July is free game.

In fact, the month of July will now be "Cheesecake Month" and I will pledge to avoid ALL of the above items for a daily slice of cheesecake.

Now that's a New Year's Resolution.

Just a "Lone Wolf" ?

Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security Secretary on terrorist incident from Friday:

When asked if Mr. Abdulmutallab was part of a bigger plot or whether he was a "lone wolf"?

Ms. Napolitano replied, "Well, right now, we have no indication that it’s part of anything larger, but obviously the investigation continues."

Two days later, we have another incident. The same flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, involving yet another Nigerian. The passenger became "verbally disruptive" and locked himself in the bathroom.

From the NY Times article: Ms. Napolitano was pressed on CNN as well as other Sunday news programs why Mr. Abdulmutallab, whose name was in the American intelligence community’s central repository of information on known or suspected international terrorists, had been allowed to board the trans-Atlantic flight in Amsterdam. Mr. Abdulmutallab, the son of a prominent Nigerian banker, was put in the database last month because his father had recently warned officials at the United States Embassy in Nigeria that he was concerned about his son’s increasingly extremist religious views.

Napolitano: "You have to understand that you need information that is specific and credible if you are going to actually bar someone from air travel. He was on a general list, which over half a million people — everybody had access to it. But there was not the kind of credible information, in the sense derogatory information, that would move him up the list."

The terrorists father is "concerned about his son's increasingly extremist religious views" - is that NOT specific and credible enough?

Friday's attack was eight years to the day of the failed efforts of the notorious Richard Reid, or how most remember him, the "Shoe bomber" - the man to blame for ALL of the world's travelers having to remove their footwear to travel.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, from Friday's attack, had trained with al-Qaida, plotted with other known terrorists in the terrorist hotbed of Yeman and yet, with the father's concerns, allowed to fly.

In October, al-Qaida's network in Yemen released the 11th edition of its official magazine. In it, top commander Abu Basir al-Wahishi advised supporters to use all available weapons at their disposal to kill Westerners who were "apostates," or unbelievers. Two suggested venues: "In airports in the western crusade countries that participated in the war against Muslims; or on their planes."

The terrorists have an "official magazine" and reveal details of plots - no one pays attention?!?!?

The magazine is Sada al-Malahim -- read some here:

http://www.jihadica.com/new-issue-of-sada-al-malahim/

Check out the pictures on the original document in Arabic:
http://www.jihadica.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/01-19-09-faloja-sada-al-salahim-7.pdf

So years later our government seems to always find ways to trip over their own feet. Perhaps this is a couple of "lone wolves", perhaps not. It just seems that a series of red flags should have been raised prior to the incident, but we aren't paying attention or choosing not to notice.

I firmly believe that political correctness was the root cause of the Ft. Hood shooting and God Bless the passengers and crew that were saved from a horrible fate with these two potential disasters.

Let's just hope that our leaders, especially at Homeland Security, get the hints.

Looking at Christ's Birth: Merry Christmas

This is a fascinating look at scripture, historical records, and astrological estimates.

http://www.versebyverse.org/doctrine/birthofchrist.html

The rundown is below after the analysis:

1. Joseph and Mary journeyed to Bethlehem for the "census" (registration) at the very close of the Jewish civil year (an apt time for a registration of peoples to occur) in late Summer, 3BC, Lk.2:1.
2. Jesus was born in a stable in the early evening hours (just as the Jewish calendar advanced to 1 Tishri) of September 11, 3BC.
3. He was circumcised on September 19, 3BC, Lk.2:21
4. He was dedicated in the Temple on October 21, 3BC.
5. Luke says, "they returned to Galilee, to their own city of Nazareth", Lk.2:39. This means that they did not go to Egypt after the birth of Christ. After all, they had only gone to Bethlehem for the "census", not to move there. So, the family returned to Nazareth in the latter part of October (during that time, they located a house to live in).
6. Then for some reason (they probably thought that a better place to raise the Messiah would be in Jerusalem’s back yard) they decided to move to Bethlehem. This could have been in the Spring or Summer of 2BC. They set up house there, Mt.2:11.
7. Then on December 25, 2BC, when the planet Jupiter came to its stationary point in mid-Virgo and was in meridian over Bethlehem, the Magi arrived in Bethlehem bearing gifts meant for a king.
8. Joseph and Mary fled to Egypt, having been forewarned by an angel in late December, 2BC.
9. Herod killed the male children "in Bethlehem and in all its environs, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had ascertained from the magi", Mt.2:16. This matter of killing two-year-old children can now make good sense. If Jesus was born in September, 3BC, the slaying of infants was about 15 months after His birth. If the conception period were also considered, it comes to 24 months exactly.
10. Joseph and Mary returned from Egypt, having been told that Herod was dead (Herod died in January, 1BC) and took up residence in Nazareth, Mt.2:19-23.
11. In the spring of 11AD, Jesus visited Jerusalem with His parents and observed Passover, Lk.2:41-42.
12. Jesus began His public ministry just after He reached the age of 31, in October or November, 29AD. This satisfies the statement in Lk.3:23 "And when He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age…".

2009 Year End Review

Do you recognize the country from a year ago? Will you recognize America a year from now?

If I would have told you last year at this time that the government would own General Motors, Chrysler, many of the banks and financial institutions and AIG, that they would fire the CEOs, that they would threaten the banks, that they would shut them down unless they would take bailout money, that they would hire good people for places like AIG and pay them a dollar to fix the problem, a dollar a year, these people would volunteer; but they would also promise them, the government would, that they would promise them bonuses if they would just work for that dollar a year to fix the problem.

When that year came up, they would not give them that bonus, they would vilify them, send their minions (SEIU) out to protest in front of their homes for even wanting the bonus that they were promised by the government and then people in Washington would then set out to have a specific tax drawn up to penalize these people, would you have believed it?

Not only would the government take over GM, fire the first guy, the President of the United States would fire a second CEO (their hand picked replacement) but the third GM CEO under Barack Obama's term, and no one in the media would report that this guy is the man who helped the Chief of Staff (Rahm Emanuel) make $16 million in one deal.

In government structured bailouts, bondholders would lose their legal status and their investments in favor of labor union payoffs and the courts wouldn’t protect the bondholders. Citizens could lose your home and property through eminent domain and eminent domain would expand in staggering ways. California would decide to levy a 10% tax on its people and insist it's not a tax; it's just a forced loan and they (State of California) would issue IOUs instead of state tax refunds. New York would admit by the end of the year they would be broke so the State of New York would issue retroactive taxes. A tax fund for the poorest of Americans (from the Stimulus Bill) would not really be a tax refund (as issued) – instead, those poorest of Americans, would find out many months later that they had to pay income tax on that tax refund – would you have believed it?

That a job creating stimulus bill would be written, not read by congress, but not even written by congress -- it would be co-written by the Apollo Alliance, a special interest group whose New York chief was a co-founder of the Weather Underground and no one would care! $5-7 million of that Stimulus, taxpayer money, would be used to payoff Hillary Clinton’s campaign debt to complete the deal struck by the President, this under the guise of saving jobs.

If I told you we're going to lose 4 million jobs and the media would report that the White House has created or saved a million jobs even though on their website, Recovery.gov (a $20 million redesigned website) would show that a good portion of these jobs were in about 400 districts that don't even exist – would you have believed it? That they would hold a job summit and not invite the Chamber of Commerce

If I told you a year ago when gold was about $800 an ounce that it would be at $1200 an ounce, would you have believed it? That Dubai which a year ago was bailing out our banks would be on the edge of bankruptcy. That the chief of the treasury, who oversees the IRS, cheated on his taxes (as would almost everyone else in the cabinet) and month after month we are told, by those same tax evaders, that the economy is healing or recovering even though unemployment soars over 10% (nearly 16% for blacks) and the dollar begins to collapse. Bank of America and Citibank would report profits while still owing 40B and 50B in TARP funds. The ridiculous deficit from the previous administration would be quadrupled to record levels in just one year and the plan for 2010 is a 12-18% increase in spending. In fact, as 2009 rings to a close, Congress will submit a $1.1 trillion spending bill.

If I had told you these things a year ago, would you have believed me? Will you recognize America a year from now?

The number of czars would escalate to over 35, one would be a 9/11 Truther, a guy who believes the United States government blew up the World Trade Center, a self avowed communist, who preached police hatred while in prison, and who defended a guy who shot a cop in the head from point blank range, if I said he would be a high level advisor to the president of the United States, would you have believed it?

What if you were told that our science czar (John Holdren) would be someone who called for forced abortions and sterilization through the drinking water, who said that the redistribution of wealth would be necessary and it would happen through the environmental movement. That there would be a diversity czar at the FCC (Mark Lloyd) and he would say Americans have to decide soon which Americans would have to step down from their positions in order to give others a chance, that this same man said the revolution in Venezuela was incredible and that we should model our FCC and our programs after Venezuela and the revolution.

If I would have told you that the most frequent visitor of the White House, over the Secretary of State and the czars, is a labor union president who has repeatedly said workers of the world unite; and we know we've got a lot of illegal members, illegal aliens in our membership, but we also represent American workers -- that he would be the most frequent visitor at the White House, would you have believed it?

What if I told you a year ago that members of ACORN, would face voter fraud charges in nearly two dozen states, ACORN would be videotaped, not by a journalist but a citizen, assisting in tax evasion, prostitution rings and child exploitation and there’d be no backlash against the administration, former members of ACORN and the decision to cut ACORN’s federal funding would be contested in court.

If I had told you these things a year ago, would you have believed me?

What if I told you that a U.S. congressman would tell the American people that it's unreasonable to expect people in congress to read bills, and he would say that because our congress would pass two bills over 1,000 pages, that no one in congress had read -- one of them was over 2,000 pages – would you have believed it?

That people in congress would openly be praising Castro, Chavez, that the president would receive an anti-American book and a photo op from Hugo Chavez and then he would have a one-hour private meeting with Vladimir Putin where Putin claims he “taught” the president the history of the Cold War. Would have believed that our Secretary of State would meet with the Russian leadership with a metaphoric “Reset” button, but erroneously use the Russian word for “escalate” instead of reset?

Would you have believed that the President of the EU would say that 2009 was the year of establishing a global government through the EU and that the climate change treaty would be the next step in one world government, that there would be a call for the end of the dollar as the world's reserve currency by several massive countries and that the leader of Russia would hold up a coin in front of the cameras and say here's a prototype of the new global currency – could you have believed it?

If I told you that the symbol of capitalism, the Empire State building, would be lit in colors of communist China, that the President would make appearances on David Letterman but couldn’t find time to meet with the Dalai Lama or that petitioning for the Olympics would take precedent over meeting with his appointed general in the war in Afghanistan.

Would you have believed that it would be Michael Moore, not Code Pink or Cindy Sheehan that would challenge the President, label him the “War President”, when he agreed to ad troops to the Afghanistan War? This coming after hand picking a General for leadership, dithering for months before making that decision to increase troops not withdraw. This announced escalation would come within days of the President receiving the Noble Peace Prize – would you have believed it?

Would these things sound impossible a year ago?

Would you have believed that our president would give an iPod of his speeches to the queen of England or that he would return the bust of Winston Churchill, which was a gift from the people of England after September 11th? Our President’s gift to the British Prime Minister was a set of DVDs (American Classics), but those discs wouldn’t even work because they were the wrong region – would you have believed it?

If I said the President would come out in a speech and announce that although he didn’t have all the information, but the cops acted stupidly because they caught a his friend apparently breaking into his own home. The cops didn't act stupidly, they just did their job and the President would NEVER apologize, instead he would invite them all for a beer summit and use it as a learning experience about diversity, would you believe it?

That Air Force and two fighters would be the subject of a photo over New York, scaring the residents and costing tax payers over $350,000 or that the President would play more golf than the previous President (who always seemed to be on vacation) did in 2 ½ years – would you have believed that?

What will America face next year?

That the U.S. would have a two-day summit to discuss the role of government in journalism and be discussing a government takeover of journalism but no journalist would actually report on that. Several members of the White House staff and the President would speak out against a major news network, even declaring “War on” this network without any outcry from the other networks.

That public school children would be taught songs promoting the President and his policies and that the media would dismiss it, that the President address those school kids, asking for their support through an essay assignment or that the National Endowment of the Arts would organize artists to develop various forms of art (propaganda) to promote the President’s policies – would you have believed it?

That the global warming hockey stick chart would be discredited, as would its founder, along with another leader of the global climate change movement who manipulated data, deleted e-mails and information to avoid Freedom of Information Act, that these same scientists would do everything they could to discredit the peer review process to make sure it remained pure for their ideological purposes, and yet the media wouldn't report on it and we'd still be headed to Copenhagen with a President the who was going to present a 17% reduction in carbon. Would you have believed it?

Healthcare would be at 36% approval rating, which is lower than Hillary Care, but that those in congress and the White House would still be jamming it down your throats. Congress would vote to federally cover abortions while demanding insurance companies spend 90% of the premiums on coverage. Would you believe that the Senate majority leader would compare opposition to healthcare reform to slavery? The deciding vote in the Senate would be held on a Sunday 1:30 am…

If I had told you these things a year ago, could you have believed me?

If I told you that there would be hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered in peaceful protest in a National Mall in D.C. and the media would not only dismiss them but the government, the president and the media would deem them a danger to the United States. Homeland security would include former veterans and people apposed to abortion on the same watch list as terrorists. Would you have believed that an American shock jock, guilty only of free speech, would be banned from Britain with other terrorists and criminals – and no one would come to his defense?

That two uninvited people could get into the White House state dinner, chat with the President, be near the prime minister of the largest democracy on the planet and that the response from the White House would dismiss the incident and proclaim to do a better job with security.

If I would have told you that there would be a Muslim terrorist and that he would shoot and killed soldiers at Fort Hood, would you have believed it? If I told you then that, yes, the president will make a statement but he will spend two minutes prior to giving a “shout out” and talking about the conference he had with the American Indian organization, would you have believed it? If I then told you after that two minutes he would then say then, oh, and also there's been a shooting of our military but let's not jump to conclusions. And then his Homeland Security director would be over in the Middle East and she would say, don't worry, we're working on things to stop the violence against Muslims in America, would you have believed it?

What if I told you that we paid another country their entire years GDP to take 11 prisoners from the Gitmo prison and then Attorney General’s office would move the most extreme 5 terrorists, including the mastermind of 9/11, to New York city to stand trial? The Attorney General Eric Holder would proclaim that we would prosecute these terrorists to the full extent of the law, but that this is the same AG whose firm defended the Gitmo prisoners, filing lawsuit after lawsuit trying to protect their civil rights – could you have believed it?

Looking at that list, do you recognize the country that you live in? Is this the same country that you lived in a year ago?

I don't think so. I don't recognize it.

I can be wrong on an awful lot of things, but when will people in this country, when will the media, at least question the direction of our country and the one this President keeps laying out.

I began writing a year end list of different incidents and was inspired by a Glenn Beck rant which I incorporated into this theme. If I had told you that Glenn Beck would be on the cover of TIME magazine, listed as one of the most fascinating people of 2009, you’d be asking what the heck happened – wouldn’t you?

I know I am.

Dogs are worse for the environment than SUVs?

Reality seems more fictitious and unbelievable than the latest Adam Sandler film.

A recent headline on Yahoo caught my eye and I fully expected satire or a redirection to the comical Onion website. Unfortunately, this was and is not the case.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091220/sc_afp/lifestyleclimatewarminganimalsfood

From Paris, AFP, dogs are more harmful to the environment than large SUVs, including the gas guzzling Hummer. The new book "Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living" by New Zealanders Robert and Brenda Vale pet owners are the target of the environmental assault.

From the book: a medium-sized dog eats about 362 pounds of meat and 209 pounds of cereal each year, with 43 square miles of land needed to create just 2.2 pounds of dog food cereal. The Vales calculated the carbon footprint of a medium-sized dog as 2.08 acres, more than twice the 1.01 acres needed to create enough energy to build a Toyota Land Cruiser. However, the pair said the average driver travels about 12,000 miles a year, making the carbon footprint of the Toyota and the dog roughly equivalent.

A dog = Toyota SUV at 12,000 miles per year.

"Everything has an impact on the environment but I'm surprised by the size of these numbers. Without analyzing them further I find it difficult to believe," said John Buckey, managing director of carbonfootprint.com.

This is an article from 2008, in which the pooches (and children for that matter) are designated harmful for the environment. In case you want to dismiss this as the voice of the fringe or kooks, the author of this 2008 piece is Dr. Arthur Kling, a MIT grad, economist at the CATO institute and on Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

We need to vote the Judge, the Economist & Dr No in 2012

We are in an unprecedented time in our history. Thousand page bills, midnight votes by Congress, record spending all lead the headlines nearly everyday. Unprecedented trials require unprecedented solutions and the survey showing the "Tea Party Movement" ahead of both the Democratic and Republican parties shines the light to lead us.

There have been no announcements by any of these individuals. This is just my posturing as facts are reviewed and individual strengths are analyzed.

People aren't flocking to support Republicans in spite of their anger towards the liberal leadership of the Democrats and this is because Republicans betrayed the public trust time and time again.

John F. Kennedy's famous quote: Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for country.

Maybe it's time to recruit rather than wait.

No longer are politicians, especially from Congress, the best suited to be President of the United States. We need vision, guidance and most importantly, we need to return to the ideals and mandates in the Constitution.

Across the landscape, there are few clearer voices than Judge Andrew Napolitano. Ron Paul's message has been proven correct time and time again, yet he's been marginalized by the press and Congress. Unfortunately, that reputation and his age would probably hinder an election bid in 2012.

"The Judge" however, is articulate and a clear constitutionalist. Glenn Beck's greatest contribution is not on FOX or his radio show, it was the Tea Party Movement and the 9/12 Project which engaged folks across America to embrace the Constitution and the greatness of our founders.

Normally a Presidential candidate waits for their nomination before announcing a Vice President running mate, but here we need a "slight breach of etiquette" (to quote one of my favorite movies) and appoint Dr. Walt E. Williams.

Williams, the George Mason economist, would probably announce my insanity with such a proclamation; however, the economy has to be turned around RIGHT NOW and Dr. Williams could be key to that process. With a ticket clearly defined to the American people, the organizers like Beck could harness the energy to drive success.

The empty suits headlining the Republican candidates will quote Reagan and provide the same old talking points.

Talking is over.

We need vision.

Sarah Palin needs to take her energy into Congress and lead from there, not the White House. The greatest minds we have like Thomas Woods and Ron Paul need to be part of a team that rival our founders not quiver in their shadows.

Judge America. Judge this administration with frivolous promises of Hope and Change. Judge the economy and the skyrocketing unemployment. Judge America.

Then Vote Judge in 2012.

MSNBC taunts victory over CNN while they lose to Greta, Shep and others

CNN can't see their bias and ideology as they try to pretend they are different than FOX or MSNBC. For the first time, CNN will finish in 4th place in prime time cable ratings(8-11pm), so let the cries begin.

The real story is MSNBC stomping on their grave like they accomplished something.

GE's propaganda machine is no different than Murdoch's presenting talking head after talking head. The difference is there are three network fighting for bottom. Who will win Nancy Grace or Keith Olbermann?

I really don't care that O'Reilly is still #1 or Beck is second. Olbermann and Grace are fighting to be #1 amongst the other three networks (CNN, MSNBC and HLN) because they would still finish behind ALL of the FOX shows.

Sample from Thur Dec. 17

5p: 6p: 7p: 8p: 9p: 10p: 11p:
FNC Beck: Baier: Shep: O'Rlly: Hann: Greta: O'Reilly:
520 356 378 762 581 487 435

CNN Blitz: Blitz: Toght: Brown: King: Cooper: Special:
158 132 112 139 168 134 80

MSNBC Mthws: EdShow: Mthews: Olbrmn: Maddow: Olbrmnn: Maddow:
93 108 154 337 294 254 140

HLN Prime: Prime: Issues: Grace: Behar: Grace: Showbiz:
92 106 144 250 188 184 153

There were a couple of days where Grace beats Olbermann or Maddow ranks in there, but they are competing for 8th place.

I'm sure all of the leftists will tell us how all the FOX watchers are brainwashed, Obama haters waving their tea bags blah blah blah...

CNN's #1 show, Larry King, is losing to the chick from the View!

Anderson Cooper, probably the most digestible show on CNN is last, losing to a Nancy Grace replay!

By the way, those FOX ratings are the best in their history. Compared that 2.2 million Prime Time viewers to the big three networks that they would still be last. While the networks' numbers are falling, they still have over 5 million viewers each, peaking 7-9 million.

My opinion, viewers know there's a bias, on FOX and on the other channels. They need to stop pretending they are objective or trying to slam FOX as right wing. FOX's slant is NOT why people watch - it's because they will analyze and report on stories that the other networks are ignoring.

The sad and terrifying truth is that on occasion those nutty talking heads on FOX make some sense and ask some interesting questions. Biased? YES. Wrong? Maybe, but ignoring the questions and points doesn't prove them wrong.

Brietbart to AG Eric Holder: Investigate ACORN or we'll release more

Recently the courts were defending ACORN's Constitutional right to receive Federal Funds after they've been allocated. Despite some outrage and justified frustration, Breitbart's BigGovernemnt.com has announced more to come if Eric Holder, the Attorney General doesn't investigate ACORN.

Thanks to Brian, who sent me this, because I don't watch Hannity and would have overlooked it:

Breitbart: There’s a lot of hypocrisy and the dust has settled for ACORN and at the end of the day they’ve recognized that Eric Holder, the Attorney General, has not initiated an investigation into ACORN after we now have seven tapes. There were five initially that came out, ACORN was defunded by the Senate, was defunded by the House, lost it’s link to the Census; while all that damage occurred, Congress didn’t come in to investigate them, obviously not the Attorney General’s office, and they’ve now realized let’s get back into business because they realized that the dust settled and they were not being investigated, it was Hannah, James, and me who were being investigated, that’s why we’ve been forced to offer this latest tape.

(NOTE: that would be James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles who posed as a pimp and prostitute to film these videos -- BBJ)

Hannity: Are you saying, Andrew, that there are more tapes?

Breitbart: Oh my goodness there are! Not only are there more tapes, it’s not just ACORN. And this message is to Attorney General Holder: I want you to know that we have more tapes, it’s not just ACORN, and we’re going to hold out until the next election cycle, or else if you want to do a clean investigation, we will give you the rest of what we have, we will comply with you, we will give you the documentation we have from countless ACORN whistleblowers who want to come forward but are fearful of this organization and the retribution that they fear that this is a dangerous organization. So if you get into an investigation, we will give you the tapes; if you don’t give us the tapes, we will revisit these tapes come election time.

Hannity: This is a blockbuster, what you’re saying here. You guys have more tapes, you’ll release them before the election, that could have a big impact on the election, obviously…

I don't care for the blackmail, election time threat, but the point is loud and clear: they have enough to investigate and prosecute individuals in ACORN.

They have not.

Global Warming Summitt Declared a Failure

"The meeting was a disaster,” Lars-Erik Liljelund, the director general of Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt’s office, said in an interview today. “The process needs to be changed because if we continue like this, we won’t be any further a year from now."

The "unprecedented meeting", as President Obama pronounced, has yielded a major blow as the treaty is tabled for a year. Maybe we'll get some more e-mails public to prove that this is the greatest hoax in the history of science.

More from the Bloomberg article:

Rich countries offered to provide $100 billion a year by 2020 to help poor nations reduce carbon emissions, which is conditional on developing countries cutting gas discharges, according to the text. They may also pay out $30 billion in aid from next year through 2012.

“In terms of finance, it is vague, it is a big soup,” Pa Ousman Jarju, a Gambian delegate, said in an interview in Copenhagen. “It’s well below what is required.”

Well BELOW what is required -- got that. $30 billion NOW and $100 billion in ten years is simply NOT ENOUGH CASH for Gambia and other countries.

What did Obama say?

The agreement was reached after President Barack Obama had last-minute talks with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and South African President, Jacob Zuma in Copenhagen today. It was then taken to all nations and most backed it. -- from the article

Scientific fallacy!?!?!

Nations should try to keep the global temperature increase before industrialization “below 2 degrees” Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit), according to the agreement. Envoys from the U.S., Europe and China have supported the 2 degrees target. Poorer nations and environmental groups wanted 1 or 1.5 degrees, fearing a higher increase will raise sea levels and make coastal cities and some island states uninhabitable.

How carbon does it take to raise or lower the earth's temperature? This is the most absurd aspect of the global warming hysterical fear mongers. Within the last several months for example, we've discovered enormous algae beds that consume 10% of the world's Carbon dioxide. Moreover, these computer models predicting the elevated sea levels etc...still haven't explained (or been recalculated) for the decline in temperatures.

Dr. William Gray, who has predicted an active hurricane season in 2010, has denounced global warming hysteria as "indoctrination" and "one-sided".

From the press release: he warned that 'ClimateGate' revelations coming out of the University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the past 25 years.

These e-mails are not the only question by skeptics, it's the straw breaking the camel's back. For years the IPCC has ignored amazing parallels in solar activity and previous warming patterns. Ice thinning in the arctic is being countered by the thickening and expansion in the Antarctic. The computer models are full of extreme worse case scenarios and treated as fact instead of a hypothesis.

Parenting War: Ban on iCarly

Read this post and other "State of the Nation" columns at DeskofBrian.com :  http://deskofbrian.com/2009/12/parenting-war-ban-on-icarly/

Miranda Cosgrove has risen to fame as the younger sister on "Drake & Josh" and now her own show: "iCarly" and this show is extremely popular.

The show follows two girls and a boy who produce a regular web video program, similar to YouTube, called iCarly. The characters revel in their pseudo-Fame as an excuse for daily antics in school or their personal lives which drives a back story to the perennial webcast.

While the theme of friendship is apparent and there are efforts to send a message, there are also several incidents and language that you don't want your child emulating.

No longer in my house.

Recently, the friend, Sam (blonde) is advising Carly's brother on how to lie more efficiently. Great topic for a kid's show.

The characters on this show treat each other horribly. Is this based on how they kids behave in the real world or is it perpetuating the problem?

One episode of iCarly, Sam isn't allowed to insult Freddie all week, unless she wants to pay him $5 an insult. As soon as Sam has some money:

Sam: You smell like feet. *gives him $5*
Freddie:*smiles, takes money*
Sam: If you were a country, you'd be El Salvadork. *gives another $5*
Freddie: *still smiling, takes the money*
Sam: Have I made fun of your butt yet?
Freddie: No.
Sam: It's oddly shaped. *gives $5*
Sam: No girl will ever want you. *gives $5*

Emmy worthy yes?

Sam is constantly getting into trouble, blaming others (usually Freddie) and her rude and cruel behavior hasn't gotten the show shut off from my the television.

When you hear the seven-year-old introducing or calling each other "doof", "Bubble Butt" (nickname for one of their teachers), referencing "pimples on their butt", putting spaghetti in their pants, you can trace it back to this show.

Carly: You're in trouble.
Sam: Who has urine trouble.

and

Sam Puckett: Those Dingo people are dead!
Carly Shay: What are we gonna do?
Sam Puckett: We're gonna go find 'em and kick 'em in their dingoes!

Carly: [doorbell rings] There's the doorbell.
Sam: Smells like your grandad.
Sam: [turns to Freddy] You smell like garbage.
Freddy: Your butt's shaped like a ham.

Let's not ignore that great messages the show sends:

Sam Puckett: [crying] I don't like working! I don't know how people do it. It's horrible! Th-they don't let you sleep, or watch TV, or go online, and they expect you to be nice to all the customers! And I'm not even allowed to eat the chili. Do you know what it's like to be me, surrounded by giant pots of chili and not allowed to eat it?

Some stuff I found researching for this:

On the episode of iCarly when Freddy is afraid that Sam is going to "get him back", and about all the first kiss junk. When Sam was about to throw Spencer the football, I looked across the hallway at the number of Freddy's apartment, and it says 8=D.

Christmas Guitar Hero & Christmas Light Shows

From the Daily What:

Former Disney Imagineer and special effects specialist Ric Turner set his family up with a fully-functional, 21,268-bulb-strong Guitar Hero-themed arrangement, and programmed it to play Eric Johnson’s “Cliffs of Dover.”

Wait, it gets better:

When you play, you watch only the Christmas lights, but the audio you hear is from the Wii, so your flubs are broadcast for all to hear (people in cars can tune 99.1 and crank it up as loud as they want.) When we are not playing, a separate version of the program that has the audio from the recorded game plays with the lights as a loop.

Global Warming: The Response

After the recent post regarding the question and answer ejection of a journalist, Phelim McAleer, after asking a difficult question.

I received one response and a link:

"They tried to take the mic from McAleer when he refused to let another journalist take their turn. McAleer took over the press event. UN Security arrived only because of McAleer's aggressive behavior."

This is the video I was directed to watch:

Stephen Schneider: "...private communications that people have between each other certainly are not public documents..."

This was the response that was hard to understand during the McAleer Q&A video.

Of course, as the poster stated, McAleer interrupts as the questioning continues. I think Schneider does a great job here of trying to speak to the integrity of science and the scientific community as a whole.

There's an interesting job at McAleer by Schneider about a post on his website. I don't know the back story here, but McAleer has a track record of attacking the Global Warming alarmists.

See, the bantering takes new form at that point. However, even after the first comment, the handlers were already closing in on McAleer to pry the microphone away.

Now, Schneider does go right back and adequately attacks McAleer for having an agenda, which he does, but Schneider can leave with just a victory - he has to take a cheap jab and the melee continued.

This is one of Schneider's videos to understand his point of view:

I want to be clear as to why I posted the original blog: trying to counter the mainstream global warming crowd and you will be attacked, called names, etc...

Being skeptical (that man is to blame, that it can be stopped or reversed, that the last ten years are cooler, that thirty years ago cooling was a bigger concern) should NOT dictate this response or reaction.

Some scientists (and myself) question the simple assertion that their models are scientific valid and NOT just worse case scenarios that, in fact, are very unlikely and not as devastating as advertised. For example, best case scenarios are 1.5 degrees increase and 6-7 degrees are possible -- all the while dismissing the cooling over the last 10 years. Just not a good hypothesis.

McAleer's website: http://www.noteviljustwrong.com/home

Schneider is NOT a flip flopper as some portray because he predicted cooling, but this is because of a warming and pollutants that would block the sun. I've had trouble finding originals of his work.

Wasteful spending: Bees, Crabs oh boy

Read "State of the Nation" at www.DeskofBrian.com:
http://deskofbrian.com/2010/09/stimulus-wasteful-spending-bees-crabs-and-hillary-oh-my/

Previously on "Wasteful Spending" we examined nearly $1 million for research on ants to save 3.5 jobs.

The University of Hawaii collected $210,000 to study the learning patterns of honeybees (no mention of jobs) and $700,000 went to help crab fishermen in Oregon recover lost crab pots. See the press release below:

Recovering Crab Pots Lost At Sea ($700,000)

A $700,000 grant will pay for 48 people to help Oregon crabbers recover crab pots they have lost at sea. The two-year project expects to yield 2,000 lost pots a year. Oregon crabbers reportedly lose an estimated 15,000 crab pots a year. The effort will use 10 boats, planes, and a telephone hotline for people to phone in crab pot sightings. If all 4,000 pots are recovered as expected, the grantees will spend an average of $175 per crab pot, though John‘s Sporting Goods in nearby Everett, Washington sells new crab pots online for as little as $19.95. At that price, crabbers could purchase nearly ten times as many crab pots as this program is expected to reclaim.1

Let's repeat that last line:

"At that price, crabbers could purchase nearly ten times as many crab pots as this program is expected to reclaim"

AND that money would go to a business which could hire more people and that would have required ZERO tax payer dollars. There is no mention of jobs created or saved by the crab pot recovery program.

950,000 ant research
210,000 honeybee research
700,000 crab pot recovery
5.97 million to Mark Penn (repayment of Hillary Clinton's campaign debts)

TOTAL = 7.83 million (only 3.5 jobs confirmed to be saved/created)

Isn't this fun class?

Christmas Memories Pt 3: The Triangle

Sometime around first grade we all begin our careers as guinea pigs for the elementary school Christmas concert and/or play. "Up on the Housetop" is the most vivid memory for me and my brief musical presentation with the triangle.

Yep, the triangle.

The kids and I always joke and enjoy the SNL sketch with Christopher Watkins. The "Don't Fear the Reaper" presentation as part of a VH1 Behind the Music spoof in which Will Ferrell bangs on the cowbell.

"I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell!"

Only fitting since my minimal musical skills were captured on the triangle. I've reflected that I never had an affinity for playing in a band or playing an instrument. It all started (and ended with) first grade: no drum, no horn, not even the tambourine....nope, the triangle.

I was THAT kid.

Christmas plays were tragic enough, but to be subject to the not-so-subtle discrimination of the having to play the triangle...how did I survive?

2nd grader sent home for drawing of Jesus on the Cross

Merry Christmas!

Please don't let your child draw a picture of their savior in our secular school system or he/she may be sent home. Sound ridiculous?

From the article:

"The boy drew the picture shortly after taking a trip with his family to see the Christmas display at the La Salette Shrine, a Christian retreat in nearby Attleboro, Massachusetts. "

The child is EXCITED and at age eight, he drew what he was excited about. If we search his portfolio we'd probably find other drawings of things that he was excited about: airplanes, dinosaurs etc....it this case, his parents should be happy their some connected so well with Christ.

But see, that's NOT Christ on the cross, the child depicted himself -- therefore, he must be disturbed. He had to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to return to school.

One report claims that the "X's" on the eyes indicated violence and that was why the school raised the red flag.

Kerri Augusto, a professor of psychology and family studies at Becker College told WBZ (local media) that the school did more harm than good for the boy.

"More disturbing than the knee-jerk interpretation of this child's drawing, is the response of the school," Augusto said.

"The extreme lengths to which the administration went to 'protect' the child, resulted in punishment for the child and his/her family and shows blatant disregard for the child's social and emotional needs."

Wasteful Spending - $950,000 to Study Ants

Read "State of the Nation" at www.DeskofBrian.com: this article is here -
http://deskofbrian.com/2009/12/stimulus-wasteful-spending-ants-puppet-show-bobber-the-safety-dog/

Remember the first 1,000 page bill that no one in Washington read? The one that Congress didn't even author as it was later revealed that Apollo Alliance drew up.

Here's a little nugget to make your brain hurt: nearly $1 million is to be spent on Ant Research.

From the article below:

"In exchange for the $950,000, Arizona gets two jobs at ASU and 1.46 at the UA, according to a database of stimulus spending released at the end of October by the federal government.

The ant studies have the ignominious distinction of joining a $25,000 grant for socially conscious puppet shows, an $88,000 Georgia paving project for a street already recently repaved, and a $21,000 grant for "Bobber the Safety Dog" costumes to help kids understand the importance of wearing life vests."

It's so easy to get sidetracked, so let's stay focused: almost $1 million for 3.5 jobs.

Do you feel like you've just bought hundreds of $300 hammers and a few dozen over priced toilet seats?

Don't even bring up Climategate or face ejection

Journalist Phelim McAleer dared the unthinkable: he asked a scientist at the Copenhagen summit about those pesky "Climategate" emails.

Oh the horror.

Dr. Stephen Schneider (Stanford University), his assistant and the UN Security did NOT appreciate this journalist doing his job.

This pompous high road attitude over the "means" in which the emails were obtained is proof positive these folks are liars and hiding the truth.

Was this the response to journalists over Watergate tapes or the Lewinsky dress? Of course not. Phil Jones and the other global warming conspirators need to be outed and if the scientists were honest, they would distance themselves from the manipulated science, denounce Jones and NOT attack the tapes and the journalists.

They are literally trying to pry the microphone away from McAleer before having security confront McAleer and his credentials.

Wow, that's the best and the brightest of global warming science responding to questions. Sorry, let's explore that: this was a non-confrontational question, simply asking for Schneider's opinion on Jones et al.

Then watch how they are threatened over turning off the camera and not rolling tape or face ejection and confiscation of the camera.

This is McAleer's statement:

"I have met Mr Christopher Ankerson the UN’s head of security for the conference and he has confirmed it was Professor Schneider’s staff who asked the security guards to come corral us at the press conference. Mr Ankerson could not say what grounds the security guard had for ordering us to stop filming.

This is a blatant attempt to stop journalists doing journalism and asking hard questions. It is not the job of armed UN security officers to stop legitimate journalists asking legitimate questions of senior members of the UN’s IPCC." - McAleer.

ACORN singled out? Federal funding protected

From the judge ruling on ACORN's lawsuit to protect their federal funding:

Judge Nina Gershon:

"[The plaintiffs] have been singled out by Congress for punishment that directly and immediately affects their ability to continue to obtain federal funding, in the absence of any judicial, or even administrative, process of adjudicating guilt"

"The public will not suffer harm by allowing the plaintiffs to continue work on contracts duly awarded by federal agencies, which was stopped solely by reason of [the ban]"

The public will NOT suffer harm?

ACORN workers were captured in several different locations assisting individuals with tax fraud, tax evasions, sheltering prostitute, obtaining a mortgage for a brothel and trafficking of illegal aliens.

Do you feel as though the public could be harmed by any of those things?
This was my earlier
blog
but you can easily find the ACORN videos which captured these illegal acts.

During the McCarthy era, Congress enacted legislation prohibiting the use of funds to pay the salaries of three federal employees who Congress deemed subversive. The Supreme Court ruled this legislation unconstitutional as a Bill of Attainder.

Subversive...illegal...ACORN is getting paid.

"Today's ruling is a victory for the constitutional rights for all Americans and for the citizens who work through ACORN to improve their communities and promote responsible lending and homeownership," ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis said in a statement.

Yes it is Constitutional to protect you from Congress deeming you "subversive" or otherwise. We need to pressure Congress to investigate and prosecute ACORN and NEVER, EVER give them an dime of Federal funds again.

I'll add here that I've heard two separate news reports and both misrepresented the case and purpose of the Congressional injunction. This is not a right-wing attack on ACORN for being leftist, ideological or an activist -- there are illegal activities and crimes being committed by ACORN staff with our tax dollars.

"Inconvenient Truth": Follow China's Lead - One child program?

Diane Francis began her article:

The "inconvenient truth" overhanging the UN's Copenhagen conference is not that the climate is warming or cooling, but that humans are overpopulating the world."

I don't know if Francis is agreeing that the Global Warming hysteria is founded on bogus science, but humans are still to blame.

The stance is that we should adopt China's one-child policy to reduce the earth's population.

"Ironically, China, despite its dirty coal plants, is the world's leader in terms of fashioning policy to combat environmental degradation, thanks to its one-child-only edict.

Liberal insanity, a mental disorder are the labels that Michael Savage used in one of his book and frankly, I never thought I'd agree with Savage, but...WOW!

"China has proven that birth restriction is smart policy. Its middle class grows, all its citizens have housing, health care, education and food, and the one out of five human beings who live there are not overpopulating the planet."

That's what it's all about right? The government can allocate everything you need.

I'm reminded of one of my favorite comedians, Brian Regan, joking about losing his luggage and receiving an "essentials kit" full of food, shelter and LOVE. These are the essentials.

Sorry to point out that means in which China achieves Francis' utopia involve censoring the press, no freedom of religion, horrific treatment of their prisoners and detainees, there's no judicial system or due process and the death penalty. Maybe Francis should spend some time with the Tibetans to understand what China is really like. Female abuse, violence and trafficking is an epidemic.

By the way, what happens to all of those unwanted children, especially the first born females?

Global Warming alarmists are scary enough, but population control freaks need to be institutionalized with the welfare breeders in one happy commune.

Christmas Memories Pt 2: Santa's Helpers

Last week I started a series on my fond Christmas Memories (Blog here)

As a child I had memorized the Rankin Bass mythology and easily debated another first grader on how Kris Kringle chose December 25th to deliver presents in honor of Christ's birthday (see "Santa Claus is Coming to Town) or how Rudolph learned to fly.

Things changed quickly when I was eight-years-old.

In the early afternoon we visited Santa Claus in Greenwood, Indiana and then traveled south, towards home, and again visited Santa near Franklin. Immediately I questioned his ability and, more importantly, his willingness to be in two different places in such a short time.

I was then introduced to a new concept: Santa's helpers.

Somehow the malls and parents were in collusion with Santa to ensure that the massive demands of children were accurately and quickly reported back to the North Pole for processing.

No surprise to those who know me: I was skeptical.

Isn't it funny how we can remember those pivotal moments from our childhood? The loss of our innocence leaves marks in our memories that we never shed and this was one of those moments.

Pic: The world's largest Christmas tree display rises up the slopes of Monte Ingino outside of Gubbio, in Italy's Umbria region. Composed of about 500 lights connected by 40,000 feet of wire, the 'tree' is a modern marvel for an ancient city.

"Letter from Jesus" -- chain email

Thanks to Gary for sending this along to me. It presents an interesting point of view to counter the struggle most Christians feel as the secular world appears to be working overtime to eliminate God, Christ and our religion from our daily lives.

The "Letter":

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish; I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing the President complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up... It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5 Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary-- especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.

9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember :

I LOVE YOU,

JESUS
