Foes to Infiltrate the Tea Parties

Originally posted at The Desk of Brian, www.deskofbrian.com: http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/foestoinfiltratetheteaparties

The website http://www.crashtheteaparty.org/ is the epicenter of the anti-Tea Party movement advertising plans to infiltrate Tea Party rallies with phony signs, make wild claims on TV interview and exaggagerate extremist stereotypes to discredit Tea Party members.
From the website:
Who We Are: A nationwide network of Democrats, Republicans and Independents who are sick and tired of all that loose affiliation of racists, homophobes and morons; who constitute the fake grass-roots movement which calls itself "The Tea Party."
What We Want: To dismantle and demolish the Tea Party by any non-violent means necessary.
How We Will Succeed: By infiltrating the Tea Party itself! In an effort to propagate their pre-existing propensity for paranoia and suspicion...we have already sat quietly in their meetings, and observed their rallies.
Whenever possible, we will act on behalf of the Tea Party in ways which exaggerate their least appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public opinion of them. We will also use the inside information that we have gained in order to disrupt and derail their plans.
I know and have met several people who attended Tea Party rallies and that includes several minorities and women who would contradict these ridiculous stereotypes.
So this proves several points
  • Tea Parties are a threat otherwise there wouldn't be a movement to destroy them.
  • Tea Parties are NOT full of racist, homophobic morons are there wouldn't be a need to implant them.
  • Tea Party members can spell or there wouldn't be a need to portray them as illiterate.
  • Tea Party members are not extremists because the "fools" interviewed and portrayed by the media may already be plants.
Stefanie Schappert reporfts that: "Although Crash’s website states that they will take down the tea party “by any non-violent means necessary”, the anonymous founder of the group (known as the “Mad Hatter” or Twitter name “tpartycrasher”) tweeted this on April 8th:
“When Glenn Beck dies, I plan to pour a pint of whiskey on his grave. I hope he doesn't mind if I run it through my kidneys first!!!.”
To quote Robert Ditmar's Examiner piece on this story (sited below):
"This sounds just like the totalitarian tactics of radicals such as Saul Alinsky. It just proves the lying, liberal leftist hypocrites cannot tolerate any intelligent challenges to their ridiculous dreams of a socialist, Utopian left-wing communist paradise-on-Earth society."
Of course it would be easy enough to dismiss this group as extremist fringe themselves, but they are NOT the only group.
The Coffee Party (http://www.coffeepartyusa.com/content/how-destroy-tea-party-make-them-our-friends-and-allies)a phony left-wing group posing as Conservatives, an offshoot of the Tea Party Movement, but rooted in the goals of stereotyping the Tea Party members as radical extremists. "The Coffee Party" was established by Annabel Park who volunteered for Democrat Jim Webb's Senate campaign and President Obama's 2008 campaign - not exactly aligned withe the Tea Parties.
The outrage over the Health Care Reform Law would have waned over the months, but these idiotic efforts will only backfire and motivate more Tea Party participants. I'm sure it would....NO, I KNOW IT WOULD be easier if every opponent of Barack Obama was a racist, sexist, homophobic moron, but unfortunately, America is better than that.
Sooner or later groups like these will find that out.

Disturbing 2010 Census Video

Originally posted at The Desk of Brian, www.deskofbrian.com :http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/disturbing2010censusvideo?pli=1

The government propaganda just continues as the political themes are interwoven with dependency on the government in this Census Video.

"Are you ready to party?"

YEAH!

"Health care for the kids..."

uh what?

"Brown like that...I'm Black like that..."

What's he talking about?

"A lot of things on the wish list

health care, tuition..."

"government assistance"

"Count me in."

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the song is made public within week or so or the health care reform bill being signed and as President Obama deepens the government's role in tuition costs.

Yep, must be a coincidence.

Bill Maher's crudely urges on Democrats

Originally posted at The Desk of Brian: www.DeskofBrian.com -- read it here: http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/billmaherscrudeurgesondemocrats

From March 26, 2010 Bill Maher's show on HBO Bill Maher offers advice to President Obama: tell the populace to kiss his ass, made vulgar references to Tiger Woods and the John Edwards affair, comparing health care to violence sex acts. Maher says to tell the Republicans to "Go F*** themselves" as Obama "drags the ignorant hillbilly half into this century." One last Sarah Palin joke and Maher completes his update on how the left see politcs, Obama's "socialism" and the rest of America.

Here's a word President Obama should take out of his Teleprompter:
Bipartisanship. People only care about that in theory, not in practice.
The best thing that happened this year is when Obama finally realized
that and said: "Kiss my black ass, we're going it alone George W. Bush
style."
[applause]

Now, two months ago, conservative Fred Barnes
wrote, "the health care bill is dead with not the slightest prospect of
resurrection." Well, if it's dead, you just got your ass kicked by a
zombie named Nancy Pelosi. Seriously, the last time a Democrat showed
balls like that John Edwards' girlfriend was filming it.

And yet, even before the Democrats got to take a single victory lap, they
were being warned not to get drunk with power. I disagree. All you
Democrats do a shot and then do another. Get drunk on this feeling of
not backing down and doing what you came to Washington to do. [applause]

Do not listen to the people who are now saying that nothing else big
should be attempted for a while because health care was so rough.
Wrong. Because I learned something watching the lying bullies of the
right lose this one. When they’re losing, they squeal like a pig. They
kept saying things like, the bill was being "shoved down our throats."
Or the Democrats were "ramming it through." The bill was so big they "couldn't take it all at once." [laughter]

And you know what? I realized listening to this rhetoric that it reminded me of something.
It reminded me of Tiger Woods' text messages to his mistress that were
made public last week, where he said, and I quote: "I want to treat you
rough, throw you around, spank and slap you and make you sore. I want
to hold you down and choke you while I f*** that ass that I own. Then
I'm going to tell you to shut the f*** up while I slap your face and
pull your hair for making noise."
Unquote. [laughter]

And this, I believe, perfectly represents the attitude the Democrats should now
have in their dealings with the Republican Party. [applause]

Yes, it does. That's what they should be saying to the Republicans: "Shut
the f*** up while I slap your face for making noise! Now pass the
cap-and-trade law, you stupid b*tch, and repeat after me, ‘global
warming is real.’"
[applause]

The Democrats need to push the rest of their agenda while their boot is on the neck of the greedy, poisonous old reptile. Who cares if cap-and-trade bill isn't popular,
neither was health care. Your poll numbers may have descended a bit,
but so did your testicles.

So don't stop. We need to regulate the banks, we need to overhaul immigration, we need to end corporate welfare including at the Pentagon, we need to bring troops home from
everywhere, we need to end the drug war, and we need to put terrorists
and other human rights violators on trial in civilian courts --
starting with Dick Cheney. [applause]

Democrats, in conclusion, Democrats in America were put on earth to do one thing: Drag the ignorant hillbilly half of this country into the next century, which in
their case is the 19th. And by passing health care, the Democrats saved
their brand.

A few months ago, Sarah Palin mockingly asked them: "How's that ‘hopey-changey’ thing working for you?" Great, actually, thanks for asking. And how's that whole ‘Hooked on Phonics’ thing working out for you? [laughter]

Healthcare and YOU

Originally posted at Desk of Brian: http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/thehealthcarebillyou

Analysis from WebMD (only from a benefits stand point, NOT cost or taxes etc...)

Beginning immediately:
  • Children up to the age of 26 can remain on their parent's plan
  • People with "pre-existing" conditions are eligible for a government federally funded "High Risk" insurance plan
  • Small businesses could qualify for a tax credit for the cost of premiums
  • Insurance plans will no longer have lifetime caps
  • Insurance companies can no longer cancel policies if a patient gets sick
  • Pre-existing conditions for children cannot be banned or prohibited

Four years from now, 2014:
  • Insurance marketplaces, called "Exchanges" will be set up instates to offer competitive pricing on health policies for individuals and small businesses that don’t have coverage
  • People with any pre-existing condition would no longer be denied coverage
  • All lifetime and annual limits on coverage would be eliminated Medicaid would be expanded to cover more low-income Americans

Also in 2014:

  • ANY person who did not obtain medical coverage would pay a penalty of $95 or 1% of income, whichever is greater (that penalty would rise to $695 or 2.5% of income by 2016)
  • The bill would exempt the lowest-income people from that insurance requirement
  • Medicaid would be expanded to cover those under age 65 with an income of up to 133% of the federal poverty level
  • To make coverage more affordable, the legislation would offer premium subsidies for people with incomes more than 133% but less than 400% of the federal poverty level ($29,327 to $88, 200 for a family of four)
  • People in their 20s would have the option to buy a lower-cost "catastrophic" health plan
Small Businesses:

  • Employers with 50 or more workers would face fines for not providing insurance coverage
  • Businesses with smaller workforces, though, would be exempt
  • Companies would get tax credits to help buy insurance if they have 25 or fewer employees and a workforce with an average wage of up to $50,000
Large Employers:

    • Large employers would run their health plans as they do now, so there won’t be much change. Even though they have more insurance-buying clout, large businesses have seen steadily rising insurance premiums over the past decade without reform, as medical costs have increased. That pattern isn’t likely to change much, at least immediately.

All per WebMD, not me.

Regarding the uninsured, here's the Washington Post's Ezra Klein breaking that down for us:

About a third of the remaining uninsured are illegal immigrants, who are ineligible for coverage through the program. Then there are some folks who have incomes below the individual mandate threshold. Under the terms of the individual mandate, if coverage would cost more than 8 percent of their monthly income, they can skip it. Other people will decide to pay the individual mandate's $750 penalty rather than purchase insurance. Still others will be eligible for public programs such as Medicaid but won't sign up. So the population of the uninsured will be far reduced, and primarily composed of illegal immigrants, the few people who can't afford their insurance and aren't getting subsidies to help them purchase it, and people who have decided to pay the penalty rather than purchase insurance.

I want ever fact and aspect of this proposal to be put forth, so as it self-destructs, we can come back and show them why this failed, why we are NOT supporting go forward with MORE socialized medicine -- it will happen.

It happened with Medicare, Medicaid and even Social Security.

Americans wanted reform, just not this reform. We cannot afford it, it still leaves countless holes, destroys the private insurance companies' ability to do business and put an enormous burden on taxpayers to carry this financial burden.

Eric Massa outing Democrats & Obama polarizing in own party

Originally post at DeskofBrian.com: http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/ericmassaoutingdemocratsobamapolarizinginownparty

"I was set up for this from the very, very beginning. The leadership of the Democratic Party have become exactly what they said they were running against." - Eric Massa

Massa has blasted Rahm Emanuel, Congressional leadership and the White House as Massa resigned, facing an investigation in his personal behavior, including incidents during an informal Navy ceremony in '83 on the USS New Jersey and one that occurred in a state room later during his Navy career. He insisted he had done nothing uncommon, insisting his sin was foul language.

"When I voted against the cap and trade bill, the phone rang and it was the chief of staff to the president of the United States of America, Rahm Emanuel, and he started swearing at me in terms and words that I hadn't heard since that crossing the line ceremony on the USS New Jersey in 1983," Massa said. "And I gave it right back to him, in terms and words that I know are physically impossible."

Re: Investigation: "Steny Hoyer has never said a single word to me at all, never, not once," Massa said. "Never before in the history of the House of Representatives has a sitting leader of the Democratic Party discussed allegations of House investigations publicly, before findings of fact. Ever."

So what is happening with the Democrats? Are they truly facing the same allegations that their Republican counterparts faced in recent years? Lastly, why hasn't President Obama provided the unity, not just between parties, but within his own party?

The average difference in Obama's approval ratings between Democrats and Republicans turned out to be 65 percent -- the highest first-year gap of any president so measured.

"The extraordinary level of polarization in Obama's first year in office is a combination of declining support from Republicans coupled with high and sustained approval from Democrats," Gallup's Jeffrey Jones reported.

Obama's 88 percent approval rating from Democrats is the second highest level of party support for a first-year president, trailing only the 92 percent Republican support for George W. Bush in 2001.

On the other hand, Obama's 23 percent rating among Republicans is tied for lowest party rating of a rookie president, matching GOP "backing" of Bill Clinton back in 1993.

"Prior to Ronald Reagan, no president averaged more than a 40-point gap in approval ratings by party during his term," said the Gallup report. "Since then, only the elder George Bush has averaged less than a 50-point gap."

"I think we live in a divided country," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told USA Today. "Washington has been a polarizing place for quite some time."

As an extension from the Cap-and-Trade fallout, Messa blames the health care debate for the attacks and his resignation.

"Mine is now the deciding vote on the health care bill and this administration and this House leadership have said, quote-unquote, they will stop at nothing to pass this health care bill, and now they've gotten rid of me and it will pass. You connect the dots."

Obama can't seem to unify the votes in his own party, often blaming Republicans for their opposition.

Back door deals, corruption, sexual misconduct, Congressional investigations....different party, same results.

I personally am not surprised.

Just a footnote too Messa's most cutting characterization of Emanuel:

"Rahm Emanuel is the son of the devil's spawn. He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive."

Obama Now Selling Judgeships for Health Care Votes?

Originally post at DeskofBrian.com: http://sites.google.com/site/thedeskofbrian/state-of-the-nation/obamanowsellingjudgeshipsforhealthcarevotes

It was a dark and stormy night in March as the President hosted the ten House Democrats who voted against healthcare reform. What deals were struck? What agreements were made as President Obama attempts to persuade them to vote yes.

Coincidentally, the White House announced that one of the ten, Jim Matheson, Democrat from Utah, has a brother who will be appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Press release:

“Scott Matheson is a distinguished candidate for the Tenth Circuit court,” President Obama said. “Both his legal and academic credentials are impressive and his commitment to judicial integrity is unwavering. I am honored to nominate this lifelong Utahn to the federal bench.”

Jim Matheson voted against the healthcare reform in July (as part of the Energy and Commerce Committee) and again in November when the House passed the bill.

The President is determined (from March 3): "..I believe the United States Congress owes the American people a final vote on health care reform. We have debated this issue thoroughly, not just for a year, but for decades." and "I will do everything in my power to make the case for reform."

Obama on Scott Matheson:

“Scott Matheson is a distinguished candidate for the Tenth Circuit court, both his legal and academic credentials are impressive and his commitment to judicial integrity is unwavering. I am honored to nominate this lifelong Utahn to the federal bench.”

In February Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA) said that the White House offered him a federal job in an effort to dissuade him from challenging Sen. Arlen Specter in the state's Democratic primary.

So is it above the reproach to believe that the day after meeting with the Utah Representative to garner support for health care that the brother is promoted?

Sestak was bribed.

Sounds like Chicago politics to me.

Healthcare is coming...even though it may be slavery

To Health care reform opposition, Senate majority leader Harry Reid stated:

"You think you've heard these same excuses before, you're right. When this country belatedly recognized the wrongs of slavery, there were those who dug in their heels and said, slow down, it's too early. Let's wait. Things aren't bad enough."

Appalling.

Democrats are supposed to be the intellectuals, capable of debate and that's the response to reform opposition. Moreover, Reid needs to recheck history in which the Republicans NOT the Democrats brought us civil rights.

Yes Republicans are a joke and did nothing for years, but this is a 2,000 page bill that NO ONE has read, we don't have the money for and most polled Americans are opposed to. This bill doesn't fix ANY of the problems, except put insurance out of business.

I will stand by my prediction: we will have a socialize health care takeover bill by the end of the year. NO QUESTION, NO DOUBT.

While every "expert" predicts delay after delay and debate after debate, only one focus lines the backdrop of distractions - get health care done.

The Senate will pass a bill and it will go to the House for a vote WITHOUT changes - this will not require more debate, financial analysis or conference. Nancy Pelosi has the votes and will deliver the bill - all but gift wrapped for the President to sign.

Atleast I wasn't the only one...

Exposing your thoughts, feelings, and opinions to the world for scrutiny can prove to be difficult, if not, outright painful. One such occasion was the assertion that the current Health care Reform Bill is basically a Ponzi scheme. The angry replies bombarded my email after this blog post.

Steve Rosenbaum illustrates in a Huffinton Post article that we are already in a state of "pay it forward" in hopes that our health care will be there when we need it. Meanwhile, the art of denying claims and excluding high risk patients has infiltrated every insurance company and in my opinion, the leading offender: Medicare.

So what's the solution?

A bigger, broader, unconstitutional mandate to require health insurance in a massive bill that will not take effect for 3 years or more.

Rosenbaum presents these solutions:

Doctors Lead Care: Rosenbaum states "doctors seem to be the ones who have the least say in the system. They've got huge risks in insurance claims and their own legal exposure. At the same time, they appear to have less and less of a voice in decisions about how they treat their patients and how they can provide proper care."

Unfortunately it's important to note that the AMA and other organizations protect their own. The old 80/20 rule applies here: most of the abusers of the system and malpractice claims are a minority of repeat offenders.

I agree the physician needs to have more control of care without regard to "what is covered" or having to run unnecessary tests to "cover their behind"

Health Care Court: Rosenbaum suggests creating "a court that can mediate and rule on conflicts between patients and insurance companies"

Rosenbaum presents an argument laced with good intentions but isn't true TORT reform. "Medical Necessity" has been highjacked by Medicare's cost control panels and the recent Mammogram treatment program illustrates how the government will manuever to cut benefits.

Faith in the "record of precedent" within the legal system is admitting that there's a slippery slope of judgments and lawsuits. We'd be moving the problem through more red tape even though the premise sounds good at first.

Choices and Options: "While people may be against the 'public' option that sounds like health care provided by the post office or DMV, the reality is that private options are narrowing, not expanding."

Yes. Rosenbaum's assertion is accurate, but this reform bill will escalate the problem NOT fix it. The caps on premiums, pre-existing coverage requirements and other regulation will spell the death of many small carriers.

Rosenbaum scratches at the surface: catastrophic health care -- but we need to couple this focus with HSA (Health Spending Accounts) and enable more competition to allow interstate commerce to lower prices.

Whether arguing that the current plan is a "pay-it-forward" system or that the current bill is a large scale Ponzi scheme, one thing is clear: the system needs major changes.

As stated previously, this just isn't the bill to fix the problems. The bills in the Senate and the House are just precursors to a one-payer government controlled health care plan.

Ponzi Scheme Healthcare - oooo, Don't Say That!?!?

It first happened months ago, but again this week I faced some odd and interesting ridicule. I made an offhand comment that the "pay it forward" taxation that accompanies this Health Care Bill is nothing more than a Ponzi Scheme.

Ouch.

I must of struck a nerve, because the explosion left profanity and liberal brain excrement all over the walls around me.

No surprise, the context matters more than the substance to these "reform" supporters.

Some amalgam of health care bills will pass (sooner than later: I stand pat) and we WILL be taxed on any coverage and some WILL be forced to purchase insurance. The semantics really don't matter because it's all just a precursor to the endgame: single payer government run health care.

What this really is: a Ponzi scheme-like bailout of the health insurance and large corporate hospitals. They've been doing their best to make it sound like we’re buying into health reform, when in fact, we will be depositing fees, taxes et al. for three years to ramp up the insurance overhaul.

Similar to Social Security, we'll be "paying it forward" while the government struggles to manage cost control to prolong bankruptcy. The mammogram policy guidelines highlighted the "death panels" that will be used to reduce coverages for all of us, especially the elderly.

For months, thousands and thousands have been losing their jobs and their health insurance along with their unemployment. Instead of addressing portable insurance, these bills make it more difficult to maintain private insurance policies.

Amongst those thousands (millions?) of unemployed are healthy patients that carried the weight of premium costs to insure the unhealthy. Insurance companies are racing to cut deals to ensure their livelihood.

The puppet masters have cut deals with the "Big Pharma" to maintain Medicare prescription payemnts. The White House supported a Medicare cut of $500 billion to destroy secondary insurance for seniors (except for AARP who struck a separate deal) and Congressmen all carve out special deals for their individual districts (Louisiana, Nevada, New York)

Seantor John Kyl spoke the truth:

"Any private or any publicly traded business that claimed it was making a profit because it booked revenue over 10 years but only booked expenses over six years would wind up in jail. That's what this bill does, that's just many of the frauds and hat tricks in this bill"

Sorry that the dose of the truth just tastes so bad, but Bernie Madoff would be proud of Congress. Good intention health care reform is following the Washington rhetoric instead of demanding proper, well thought out reform.

Ron Paul tackles Michael Moore, healthcare

Thanks to Robert Herriman for sending me this: Ron Paul on Larry King answering to Michael Moore and his views.

Let's just say that this isn't a fair fight.

Health care is NOT a right!

Ron Paul was a doctor, so maybe we should listen to him on health care reform. He explains the free market solutions to fixing managed care and the "mischief" of government.

I Larry King's come back was "half socialism" which Paul refutes the government intervention and the track record of failure. The intervention and big government has ballooned over the last 30 years and Ron Paul is spot on.

Likewise, unlike Moore who is soft on Obama, Paul is critical of both.

I've grown to respect Ron Paul more and more as the most consistent Congressman. He's nicknamed "Dr. NO" for a reason.

Medicare WORST at denying claims!

This AMA data1 was released awhile ago and I haven't made time to comment or present some of the interesting findings. I understand many commentators (such as Glenn Beck) have mentioned it.

We've heard over and OVER and OVER again about those evil insurance companies and the liberals cry about empathy needed or that health care coverage is actually a RIGHT.

So the AMA data show the claims, denials and % of denials -- would it surprise you that Medicare rejects more claims than their private insurance counterparts?

From the report:

Description: What percentage of records submitted are denied by the payer for reasons other than a claim edit?

A denial is defined as: allowed amount equal to the billed charge and the payment equals $0.

Payer / Count of records / Denied records / % of claim lines denied
Aetna 637,239 / 43,317 / 6.80%
Anthem 250,070 / 11,546 / 4.62%
CIGNA 263,728 / 9,060 / 3.44%
Coventry 20,487 / 590 / 2.88%
Health Net 4,975 / 193 / 3.88%
Humana 143,026 / 4,142 / 2.90%
Medicare 6,938,431 / 475,566 / 6.85%
UHC 1,127,691 / 30,177 / 2.68%

Date Range: 03/01/2007 – 3/10/2008

Page 11 of the AMA report explains some of the denials and 20% of the Medicare Rejections are simply designated as "NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY"

So the government, just like private insurance is already engaged in an intense analysis for cost control and evaluating what your doctor believes is needed. Most of the rejections from the private payers come before the claim process (e.g. pre-existing conditions) and those payers have contracts, fee schedules and payment arrangements with the physicians, hospitals, laboratories etc...

Medicare gets a pass for being the biggest culprit on denying coverages.

This is in large part why so many seniors have enrolled in secondary insurances like AARP's Medigap or Medicare Advantage. They are designed to pick up the tab for the NON-COVERED services and prescriptions that MEDICARE DOES NOT COVER.

Is the health care reform going to fix this?

The answer is a resounding NO!

More government intervention, another government run "public option" will be crippled by the same problems, cost control measures etc...

The health care reform bills cut Medicare coverages further, targeting Medicare Advantage directly and will reduce choices for seniors.
